Chapter 22

Renee's POV

I felt so groggy, I tried to open my eyes, but they still wouldn't budge. I could hear voices around me it sounded like Amber and Jonathan. I took a deep breath in it smelled like them.

I was trying to speak but it felt nearly impossible. Why am I so tired? Where am I? I remember searing, mind numbing pain. I also had an incredibly wet and weird dream about making out with Alpha Ethan.

What was happening? My lips felt dry and hot. I was pretty sure cacti had started to grow in my throat. I finally managed to say "water" in a voice I didn't even recognize as my own.

"She is awake!" Amber shouted, "hurry get me that water!"

I heard someone moving across the room.

"Here you go Renee, here is the straw." Amber said while pushing a small plastic straw to my lips.

I started drinking, I don't think, I had ever tasted anything better. I quickly drained the cup. It tasted so amazing, like that first sip of fluid after having a stomach bug.
