Renee’s POV

I was almost asleep in my room when I heard Amber's voice ring out downstairs.

"Why are you here? What is the meaning of this? Answer me!!" She sounded startled and was almost pleading for answers.

I heard several people coming up the stairs.

"What's happening?" I link Amber startled

"The Elder Council, they say they are here for you." She cries in my head "Get out, they are coming"

I tried to move quickly out the window. But I still wasn't fully healed, and they were too fast. I no sooner got to the window and got it open when three men barged into my room and shot something into my back. I cried out whimpering. I tried to link Ethan, then Amber but nothing would go out. What the hell was that. Why did the Elder Council want me?
