I Don't Stand A Chance

Felise and I entered her apartment, its warm ambiance failing to alleviate the heaviness we carried. I plummeted onto her worn-out couch. And we each took a moment to collect our thoughts before delving into the whirlwind of emotions that had consumed us.

Felise sighed deeply, her voice heavy with disappointment. "I thought Alpha Alexander was different, that his reputation as a great leader was warranted. But after today, I can see that all alphas were the same."

I nodded silently, sharing her sentiment. "It's disheartening, isn't it? To realize that the one who commands such loyalty from his pack can also possess such cruelty. But we cannot fault him entirely. After all, he must have his reasons for being so ruthless."

Felise's eyes met mine, understanding flickering in their depths. "I agree. We both knew that joining his pack came with its own set of risks. But the way he looked at you as if he could see through you, that's what troubles me."
