Everyone was gathering at the middle field between Nightshade and Shadow Falls before we made our way over to the battlefield.

The main group, which included Maddox and Kalen, would be the first one through. They would be luring Draxthi and Calvin outside. Then we would all make our way to wherever our groups were to be stationed. I could not use my abilities, but that was not going to stop me from kicking some serious baddie ass.

I slipped a special amulet over my head. It was a last-minute addition to the plan, one that would bring more strength to our side.

I kissed the top of Sansa’s head and slipped out of bed without waking her up. This woman had become the most important thing in my entire life. We had not known each other for too long, but I fully understood now what it meant by a soul connection between mates.
