Standing there as I watched the way my father circled around Christopher as if he was a lion rounding his weakened prey.

It was despicable, but I knew what he wanted from me. He wanted me to stand here, to watch, to witness, but not react. He was saying all these things about how stupid Chris was, how my sister was a whore. Basically he wanted to get a rise out of me.

What he was truly aiming for was to see my loyalty. He wanted me to take it all, stand here saying nothing like an orientation little lap dog that knows his place.

His words made my blood boil, the way he would speak about his own daughter was truly sickening. What kind of parent can say these kinds of things about their own flesh and blood is beyond me.
