A silence sat around the woods. Not a sound could be heard.

There were no crickets, no crunching of leaves from small animals scurrying along the forest floor. The old owl that would hoot every night I came out for a run wasn't even making his normal sounds.

Instead the forest held an eerily quietness to it. Predators lurking in the shadows of the night making every living creature around run the other direction.
