Dahlia's POV Continued We all worked throughout the morning. Talking, laughing even, as we continued on. When lunchtime hit, we took a small break, eating some sandwiches before deciding to get back to it. I decided to make a few more sandwiches so that I knew the guys ate something today as well.Once I finished I excused myself from the kitchens saying I'd be back shortly before I made my way outside the house to walk over to the training fields. As I trudged along I could see people carrying bags, or boxes to different areas within the pack. Everyone that noticed me smiled while waving. Considering what all is going on around us, knowing what they are preparing for, they all seem to be in good spirits nonetheless. 'Do you see Dahlia, see how they treat you, how they act? Yes I can smell their fear, but their faith in Damien, their faith in you, has not wavered. It doesn't take away the fact that they still feel a sense of security throughout all of this.'I watch as kids help
Alpha Damien's POV I can feel this odd sense of peace flowing through me as I lead my next training class with some of my warriors.Walking through as they spar with one another to make sure everyone is top notch it just seeped into me. Looking around I wondered if it was from me, as I watched how strong and capable my men are only to close my eyes and feel Dahlia. After she dropped off some food for myself and the others, I assumed she would head back to the house again to continue helping in the kitchens. That was until I saw her with a few other women from the pack with a couple little ones. She went back to them then lifted a box before following them over to the school. Now this feeling pushing through my emotions tells me that she is feeling something she was worried about. That worry she's been trying to push aside at the thought that people would blame her for our predicament with Alpha Knight. Hopefully now, without just her usual crowd of people trying to reassure her tha
Alpha Damien's POV Continued The next few days seemed to just fly by. Between training, working with the new warriors, integrating them into our pack with my people and going over pack business I feel as if I haven't seen Dahlia at all. When I start my day she is still sleeping, then when I finally get back to our room to go to bed she's already asleep. She sneaks by the training grounds every day to make sure I eat lunch, then to my office to bring me dinner. Yet there is no real time for us through that. She has been busy with everything going on as well. Working with our female members to make sure everything is set up in the bunkers. Baking, or cooking all morning long with the kitchen staff to ensure that everyone is fed and taken care of.She has fully stepped into her role as the Luna of the pack. People come to her with issues that sheanages to take care of quickly and efficiently. Alexi has told me that Levi has settled in with her perfectly. They work in tandem with one a
Alpha Damien's POV Continued A silence sat around the woods. Not a sound could be heard. There were no crickets, no crunching of leaves from small animals scurrying along the forest floor. The old owl that would hoot every night I came out for a run wasn't even making his normal sounds. Instead the forest held an eerily quietness to it. Predators lurking in the shadows of the night making every living creature around run the other direction. Standing behind trees, hiding within the brush of night, staying unseen from the Moonlight that shined above. I waited. Breathing in deeply to catch a scent that was unknown to me as my guards stayed in their normal stations. Alexi waited with his father, my Uncle, along with Levi about a 100 yards behind me. All just waiting around for the inevitable to finally happen. Warriors lie in wait all around, covering every inch of our pack outside from where I am. Mikko feels antsy from staying still. His blood lust at full force. The
Dahlia's POV When Damien's words flowed through my mind my body went on high alert. Nose in the air as we caught different scents coming from the direction in front of where we stand. Hiding in the shadows along with Levi. Nudging him slightly in warning as he began to slow his heart rate down to almost seem as if it had stopped. Masking our scents as we waited so as to not be detected by any that may attempt to slip past us. 'You know if this goes in our favor...' 'There is no "if" Dahlia, this is going to go in our favor.' Shaking my head I smiled inside my mind. 'When this goes our way, you will be the Alpha of the Knight Pack.' He sighed deeply, making me turn slightly to look at him. 'You will be a wonderful Alpha Levi.' 'It always should have been you Dahl's.' 'No, I never wanted that. Being Luna, being with Damien, that's what I was always meant for. You are the Alpha that the pack truly needs.' He pushed his snout into my fur around my neck. Before we could spe
Dahlia's POV Continued I was so lost in the moments spent in that fight with Christopher I forgot about everything else going on around me. My eyes were locked down on his lifeless body, unable to find a way to look anywhere else but couldn't. He was dead. I killed the boy I grew up watching when I was out of that hell room away from the world. The boy my mother had said would be good for me if we were mated. The man I watched him grow into from afar only to feel the mate bond snap into place from across a room when we both came of age. I lost my innocence to him before catching him cheating on me on our wedding day. He's the reason I ran. It's because of him I found my way here, to this pack, to Damien. Now he's gone but I feel sorrow for the loss of him. Despite everything that happened, the anger, the hurt, the betrayal. I know I shouldn't feel bad, shouldn't hold sadness inside of me for what has happened, but I do nonetheless. Death wasn't what I felt he deserved, y
Levi's POV The moment I was surrounded by warriors I could see the questioning in their eyes. The fear that coursed through them when they realized just who I was. To fight, not only an Alpha Heir, but their very own Alpha Heir, was not exactly something one would normally choose to do. Looking through them was when my heart stuttered to almost a complete stop. Christopher was going after Dahlia. Rage coursed through my body making me almost rabid as I threw my body at a warrior to my right. Ripping his throat out immediately before lunging towards the next one that thought it would be a smart move to come at me. They all learned rather quickly that their death was imminent and if they hadn't, well it didn't matter because they all lay dead at my paws when I snapped my head up to see that Dahlia and Christopher are no longer in my line of sight. Sniffing the air, the copper smell was all I could sense out. Running, fighting, killing. Fear for my sister coursing through m
Alpha Damien's POV My heart hammered inside of my chest as she spoke. When he accepted her challenge I saw red. Mikko was burning me from the inside out as I forced him down, making my body quiver as we fought against one another. When I watched the way Alpha Knight shifted back into his wolf, then her doing the same, my feet controlled themselves as we stepped in front of her. 'What the HELL do you think you are doing!' I yelled with absolute fury as I stared at Alanah. Her fur tinged with blood yet whatever wounds she had withstood were already healed. My breathing was heavy as I growled deep within my chest before her soft calm tone swam through my mind. 'Damien please. You have to understand.' 'UNDERSTAND!' 'Yes, understand. This isn't something I'm doing on a whim. This is what is necessary. If you kill him then no one will ever truly see Levi as their Alpha. Even if you chose to give him that title over his pack they will all see you as their true Alpha. He will ru
