I should have just let Lilah go, then all this would be dealt with. There were a lot of things that I should have done. But ultimately Lilah would never forgive herself. She may have killed Magnus, but she wasn’t a murderer, it just wasn’t in her.

“Everyone needs to shut the fuck up.” I feel Lilah’s wolf relax a little as I still battled to hold her back. “Lilah, shift back, this isn’t going to solve anything.”

Her head flicks around to look at me. She didn’t like what I was asking her to do. Her eyes focus on mine as she shakes her head.

“Lilah, you need to shift back.”

I couldn’t believe what I was about to say. “You won’t get answers if you kill her.”

She growls at me as I let go of her. I take off my shirt, ready to pull it over her the moment she shifts back. Lilah growls one more time at Daphne and shifts back to her human form. Quickly pulling the shirt over her, she continues to glare at me. “You better be right.”
