DaphneDid I just hear Callie right? Did she really just say my grandma killed Alpha Colt’s mother?I stare at her in shock. She frowns at me and then looks around the room at the others. LincAs I tried to stretch, I realised that something was clinging to me. It takes me a second to remember I had slept in the same bed as Daphne. Daphne’s body trembled against mine. Her arms wrapped around my waist. Her face was buried into my side. I had agreed to sleep in here to make her feel better, not to have her cling to me. Though I didn’t hate it.“Daphne, what are you doing?”“Has the howling stopped?”“There is no howling.” She had mentioned something about it last night, but the only howls were the ones from patrol and they weren’t even that close to the cabin.Her eyes peer at me and she frowns, “They were howling all night.”“The patrols,” I mutter, trying to stretch out. “They aren’t even that close.”She pushes herself upwards and sits staring at me. Linc“She won’t believe you.” I mutter as Daphne starts pacing the bedroom.“But I have proof now.”“What you have is something that just shows you were lying and Lilah will think you have been after her.”“But I wasn’t. I’m not lying about this Linc and you know it.”“It doesn’t matter what I think. Lilah is pissed at you. She won’t believe this even if I was the one to tell her. Daphne“Hey, um, I’ve packed quite a bit. Are you okay? Alpha Colt I stood on the steps of the packhouse, waiting for Linc to arrive. He had been torn when we were chatting over mindlink. Conflicted with his feelings. He wanted to know what I would do if I were in his position. I told him to trust his instincts. There was a very good chance that he was returning alone. Lilah wanted to wait as well. Just like me, she expected Linc to come back alone. But I told her to stay inside and try to keep our son occupied. I got the call from the gate that Linc was back. The SUV slowly made its way up the drive to the front of the house. I could see Daphne, her head was low, her hair hiding her face. From here, I couldn't tell what had happened. I watched as Linc jumped out of the car. He nods towards me and walks around the car, opening the passenger door. He takes her hand and a flicker of a smile appears. Linc I stared at the boy in front of me. Apart from the eyes, he looked just like a young Alpha Colt. A cheeky grin on his face as he waits for me to say something else. It was only this morning that he had been trying to pull himself up. “And you talk?” “Uncle Linc, stop being silly.” He turns around to the Alpha. “Dad, mummy said can you take me shopping.” “What is happening?” I mutter “Every few hours, he is growing out of what he is wearing.” “That isn’t what I meant.” “I know what you meant, but I would prefer it if we didn’t discuss it right now.” He nods his head at his son. “Dad, I know you are talking about me.” He hops up onto Alpha Colt’s lap and blows his cheeks out. He leans forward on the desk, doodling with a pen. “Is there anything I can do?” I wasn’t entirely sure how I was supposed to help. But it was taking the heat off of Daphne for a while. “I haven’t been to Kaitlin’s house. Could you go search it? See if this has anything to do with the early labour.”

DaphneThe pan fell from my hand this time. It was bad enough knowing that he was Lilah’s son and he was already this big. But shifting from a wolf to a Lycan. Was that even possible? I certainly did not know enough about them to know that this could happen.Linc’s mouth is hanging open. He hadn’t even looked away. Within seconds Aiden is stumbling backwards, crashing onto the sofa and his body quickly changes back to a small boy, although slightly taller than before.His breathing is heavy.
