“Kaitlin. It is in black and white. The twins are not mine.”

“They have to be. I didn’t sleep with anyone else!”

“You must have done. It is the only explanation. How else would they be a hundred percent match to you?” On so many levels, I felt relieved. I wouldn’t have to find a way to fit the boys and Lilah into my life.

“Colt, they are yours. You saw them, you looked at them, they both have blue eyes, exactly like yours..” Kaitlin wails at me.

“Magnus has the same fucking eye colour as me. And so do a lot of other Lycans and wolves. It proves nothing.”

“Colt, please, these results, they have to be wrong.”

“Did you touch them?” I ask Linc. He was the only one that had carried the envelope.

“No. The results were not for me.” He held eye contact so I knew that he was telling me the truth. Linc wouldn’t lie to me.

I turn back to Kaitlin. “Take them away. I don’t want them here.”

“But they are yours, Colt. They can’t be anyone else’s, it is impossible. You cannot deny them fro
