The Silver Angel Woods

This world is horrid, so if you are reading my tale remember that everything is a lie. Nothing is true and manipulation is key.

Perfect is not a word we use because it is not true.

When I was younger I wanted to explore the world, now all I want to do is have my next meal without puking. I am Rapunzel, who never left her tower. Or for me, my castle. Yes I have social interaction, but that's not the same and with my weight it makes me want to die.

    But I have to remember…

    Be happy.

You have to smile to make an impression that you are happy though…

Shining bright up above is the sun, as a star in the sky.

Would never be touch by any creature kind down below, Chirping birds fly from high above with no worry at all. The vines grow from the towering trees, waiting to invade the ground below with the long snake-like grove.

The tree I am under big enough to live in hunches over me, reading the one book I have read too many times to count. Feeling the wind through my sub-like coils, pondering all my thoughts to one. I close my eyes, take a deep breath, smelling the honeydew and a mix of wild Native British that grew on the vines above. I opened the novel hoping it would help escape the mainland into a universal world but fail again.

Furthermore, I wonder when will I be able to escape the land of Cipea?

A husky voice came from beyond, having me look above my head, seeing the flying Griffin take his landing.

“So this is where you go.” He said. I mentally cursed looking down to close the novel, I grabbed the sunflower bookmark to hold my place, pondering how did her find me?

“What, no hi,” He said, coming up closer and plopping himself under the arched tree.

“What are you doing here,” I asked in a quiet voice, but by the look of his face I knew what he was here for.

“I came here to see you, you’re king, more of a bodyguard.” Saying the end in a low voice.“Is going crazy over you.” He said in a sarcastic voice, as always.

“Ok, just give me a minute.” I breathed in, telling myself to calm down, knowing what will happen after.

“ You’ll be fine, ok.” Putting his rough clawed hand on my delicate shoulder. I nodded in a lie, not knowing what is wrong with me, but knowing I am not fine.

“Come on, flower, the big bad wolf is waiting for little red riding hood to come home.” Getting up, whipping to exist dirty that developed sitting down. Arching his back, waiting for me to go on top of him. I laughed, knowing it would be my last.

As we flew up into the clouds of rainbows, I asked Zander to fly up to the clouds. He oscillate his wings higher up I felt my hand slowly slip away from him as that happened. I  brought my hands upward to feel the wonder and cotton-like balls in the sky.

The barotrauma is magnificent the tingles that popped and the feeling the airy soft form of clouds form on my palms, wishing they would stay forever.

“ You ready, flower, I could already sense the anger from here.” He spoke, chuckling at his joke.

“ I guess,” I muttered, bringing my arms back to his neck, sad that it had to end so soon. The ride was silent. All you heard was the quick air of the wings as they went up and down. Finally going down to the ground was weird for me, even though I was just there a couple of minutes ago. I never liked being on land, which was not surprising to me. When you have wings, it becomes ten times easier.

As we got closer to the border of The Silver Angel Woods. I saw in the distance the big-bad wolf, who was not as bad as he seemed, getting closer and closer I could feel the anger that Zander was talking about. Deadly. That’s all I will say.

“Where were you?” The angry wolf said, crossing his arms, giving me a stare to kill. I took a deep breath before looking up at the chocolate brown eyes.

“I was in the woods.” I beamed, hoping he would accept my choice of action.

“NO." In a loud growl. “You know well you can't be in that forest. There are thousands of dangerous creatures that will kill you in one snap.” He protested, noticing his eyes getting darker and darker with each word coming out.

“ I-I’m sorry, I just needed a break.” I sighed, trying not to stutter after my own words.

“UGH!” It was all I heard, bringing his arms up in anger, stepping back to think.

“Hey Artemis, don’t get your ears in a knot, she’s here and that’s all we need to worry about,” Zander said, getting a little closer to the angry man-wolf. Giving him a look, the look of oh, you better not even think about yelling at the poor fairy, or that’s how I think it was. Artemis brought his hand to the temple, rubbing his face to think of what she should do to solve this complication.

“Fine, inform me next time, so I can come got it,” Artemis said, saying in a stern yet caring voice. I nodded happily, knowing I was not going to die today.

Walking back, I felt less stressed, almost like someone took a heavy weight on my shoulders. I started walking with a pep in my step, feeling joy again.

“Lavender, don’t go in that woods, ok,” Artemis said in an emotionless voice. Never mind, I was wrong.

            “Why?”

“Because it’s not safe- Lavy why don’t you have questions and just listen.” He said, curling his long hands into a fist and his eyes turning dark chocolate to sunshine gold.

“You know what, I will not put my energy on you, just when we get to the castle-.” He stated, standing straight rectangle shoulders and his grizzly bear figure, yet before any other words, we heard an unusual sound. It sounded like a small movement of sound, almost hard to hear by the human ears, but of course, him being a wolf, he could hear anything from all over.

All of our heads turned to the bush, not even a minute later the guards that were no longer behind us come in front using the shield as a guard hearing the muffles, yes soft sounds getting closer and closer, we all got ready.

Zander taking his claws and spread out his ginormous wings, Artemis was ready to transform to his loveable yet frightening form, ready to fire I saw the guards taking out the swords, but then I heard a familiar sound, a giggle to be precise. Come by in front of them all, my stub legs moving quick just in case Artemis did something stupid, I sat down in front of the bush waiting for the creature to come out.

“Lavender, what are you doing, get out now.” Artemis yelled mid-linking the guard's something, afterward hearing the same sound of chuckles, knowing it was already on the edge of the bush and hearing our little conversation.

Not even a second later, a ginger kitten pops its head out from the emerald green bush observing the outdoors, only to see me the kitten smiled knowing who I was, wandering off to my leg snuggling as the kitten did a spin, small purrs escape from her mouth.

“Really Daisy!” Artemis broke off the silence, telling the guards and everyone to put down the weapons, I giggled to myself thinking how funny he looked when he was furious. After turning around trying to go back to as he said’s his “safe self” looking back at Daisy, I motioned her to shift before Artemis had a whole puppy fit.

I gave them a couple of steps back, giving her room, I always thought shifters were the most beautiful things ever, which they are. As she shifted you can see small rays of lights and sparkle form on her tiny figure, with bubbles starting to form making her shifted even more magical to see.

In the end, you saw clouds of golden and purple dust and lust with a big poof of air, in the end, the air was big enough to make all of our hair move backward. Just like the movies.

The shifter made herself, no longer a tiny kitten but, into her human-like form, the opposite style from her transformation and even her name. Daisy, it is it’s like Aureate almost graceful but, she as I said it’s the opposite. Edgy. Grunge. Pierced with not a friendly smile.

“I was looking for you,” She said pointing to me with a foul look, “God,” fixing the pleated skirt that already wrinkled from the shifting.

“Daisy you have to stop doing that alright, you could have—” Artemis spoke, but before he could finish she interrupts the sentence.

“What, been killer.” She sarcastically said, rolling her hazel eyes as she's waving her arms around as if they were tentacles.

He huffed with hot air coming out of his nose in a way we all know to run. But for some reason, we didn’t. We just stood still, scared to take an inch of movement. Motionless.

“Listen, I’m already mad at her.” Pointing to me.“So DON'T push me. "

I sat on my windowsill waiting for the speech, waiting for the argument to be on, a minute’s pilled up to hours. I ponder when will I get the speech, not only that, but I wanted to read, I wanted to write, I wanted to do anything, but to be in this room and wait. I wanted to leave and never come back.

Likewise, I’ve been waiting for the last 4 hours and, I really couldn’t take it anymore, in the same way, I was getting lonely from my own silence. I realize as staring into the mirror that should change to something— more formal, though it didn’t bother me, taking my heels and slipping them on. I took one last look in the mirror before I left, making sure I did not have a single piece of hair out of place, which was almost impossible because of my curly coils.

Slowly opening the door, examining who was out there, when the coast was clear I walked to the other side of the castle hoping to find Artemis and his army training.

As I walked through the many halls, I notice many maids and other staff getting rushing around trying to make the palace spotless, without fail, consistently feeling bad for those maids, and the cooks, and pretty much every creature who works for the Alpha.

But they chose to work for one of the most intimidating, and powerful Alpha’s in our generation, so it’s their funeral. Finally arriving at my destination, I waited in front of the door already hearing the hits of the bags, the yelling, and lastly, I smell the stench of sweat, hesitant to open the door I took a deep breath ready for whatever was to happen.

Then, when I was ready, I opened the immense doors. I walked in seeing many things at once soldiers doing push-ups, others were wrestling each other, some were even at the weights. I peered my eyes all over the big arena, but unfortunately, I did not find the Alpha I was looking for.

“What are you doing here? Why are you not in your room? I told you to stay in your room.” Artemis questioned. I turned around, seeing the right person I was just looking for, a bearing death stare over at me.

“I came to see you, and apologize, ok,” I told him saying it confidently but slowly becoming my shy self again, looking down at the floor when I said the last word.

“I forgive you”. He said, my eyes dilated, aghast. “What you expect me to not forgive you” He chuckled getting closer to me and pulling me into a hug. "You know I should be the one apologizing, I should have never yelled at you nor Daisy.” He admitted giving me the puppy eyes while having his imaginary tail wag. “Do you forgive me?” in the baby voice, putting his head on my head while touching my curls.

“Fine, I do, just stop touching my hair,” I giggled, taking his paws off.

We both laughed, you know, I don’t remember the last time I laughed with him like that. It felt….nice.

“Uhh, Alpha, sorry to interrupt you, but Reginald is here, sir.”

I could feel how he was a little embarrassed to disturb us, I guess because most creatures don’t get to see Artemis as a caring type of guy, which you are not wrong he is very serious, but he’s also really overprotective meaning he has a heart. Most creatures think Artemis is this petrifying guy that doesn’t have a soul, but that is not true Artemis is actually hilarious (shocker or not), but that’s when he wants to be. I mean yeah he dresses and looks scary, a little doesn’t mean he is— right. He straightened up his posture, making him more intimidating, and turning his smile to none.

"Thank you for informing me, Johnson, tell him I will be there in a minute.”

With that, Johnson speeded back to inform Reginald himself.

“Listen to me, Lavender,” He said, bending down to my eyesight. “I need you to go to your room, and STAY in your room until I get back.”

I knew that this time he meant it because when Reginald ever gets to even the premises of the castle. There will be more guards in the front and all over, just to ensure all of our safety.

See, the reason Artemis never trusted Reginald is not that they haven’t made peace(trust me they have). It’s because the creatures, or more like our creatures, have the biggest fear of vampires, so since Reginald is one, he has ensured not just Artemis but everyone that whenever he comes. Even if it’s just to say hi, he will be patted down and all. But another reason why I think is because of the relationship between vampires and werewolves, we all know the history right.

Well if you don’t I will tell you a long time ago there were only vampires. No wolves nor fairies or goblins this was because of a bat know I will not go into detail on what type or how, but let’s just say one day a little boy was in the woods playing with two other boys his age.

As being a child of the young they were all very curious, at the time they were all playing hide-and-seek, as the boys started hiding they both thought to make the game harder they were going to split up. When they both split up, one of the boys saw a cave up ahead and, thought to himself that if he hid in that cave that his friends would never find him. Going inside the cave he noticed it was too dark to see anything also, slimy, and cold, just the way vampires like it.

Heading into the cave, the boy kept hearing these unusual sounds they were squeaky like a small mouse in a house but loud like an elephant blowing its trunk.

Unfortunately, the little boy could not take it anymore and ran further into the cave to stop the noise, but he never found it, that was until he bumped into a bat.

The little boy was started at first, he would have never seen such an unusual bat. It was the color white with blood-red eyes and had long shark fangs pointing down from the bats mouth. What made that bad so unusual was the size bats at the time were miniature and rare to see, unlike this one, it was the size of a basketball.

As the two got closer to each other, they examined seeing all the differences they had, so the little boy put his hand out, showing the bat that he was friendly and that he was not going to hurt him, but what he does not know was this wasn’t an ordinary bat. So as the bat slowly went to his finger, he was getting his jaw and all ready to bite the vampire himself.

Not knowing what the bat was thinking, the boy thought it was cool to see a bat in his own eyes. His father always told him about how he should be careful when you are with them, but like most children, they do not listen. Then, as the boy was distracted - BAMB!

The bat bit him on the arm, the feel of two crisp fangs digging into his flesh in the upper arm of the boy, he screamed in pain the boy swish away the bat, getting him off. When he did, the boy still felt the pain of the bite and started running out of the cave, not caring about the game and only caring about getting home. Running as fast as the boy can, he started feeling sick to his stomach he ignored the unusual feeling and ran even faster, but with every step he took, he went weaker and weaker.

As he saw his house in the distance before he could get to the door, he collapses on the front of the lawn, when he did, both parents of the little boy were worried because he said he would be there by noon. Even though it was already dark, so both parents grabbed their shoes and ran outside, only to find a native man in front of their porch, he clearly was abnormal from the crystal white eyes and pale skin.

The man told him that he would be able to take care of the boy, but the only way he could was to take him away.

The parents disagreed, saying they would never let a stranger take their only child, thought the man told them if they didn’t the boy would die into their arms and infect the whole village from the disease that filled his body. Of course, it was a lie.

Not knowingly they handed the boy to the man leaving them in the distance, never to see them again and for that, the boy grew up with the man, no he was not a vampire, but he was curious about how this has happened and wanted to know more.

As the years went by the boy who was now an adult created a family with a human girl that the meat in the woods, and like all stories, they had a family and for the first time in history the generation of vampires began.

Well that’s how it happened, a bat bite a boy and that’s how vampires were made, but trust me there is so much more to the story, I know you have many questions, I do too.

But all I can say is that we never really learned about how they started their war, some creatures say that the vampires were jealous of the wolves and their abilities. Some say it could be because they were born.

To be honest, we will never know the reason.
