Marienne's Pov

The following morning I woke up in a cozy bed,in the camp feeling disoriented yet strangely at peace. Blinking my eyes in the soft morning light, I stretched my limbs and yawned, relishing the sensation of being well-rested.

I felt good finally able to sleep in a bed, then the cold bloody ground of the dungeon. The exhaustion must have taken a toll on me, and it is all but a distant memory now.

OkAs I climbed out of bed, I realized that it was already afternoon. The realization startled me, making me wonder how long I had been sleeping. But instead of feeling guilty or anxious about the wasted time, I only felt a profound sense of relief. It was the first time in weeks that I had been able to have such a long and undisturbed slumber without water being poured on me.

A rumble echoed from my stomach, reminding me how long it had been since I last ate. Hunger had become a mere afterthought during the past few weeks, as my mind focused solely on getting through each day.
