I leaned against the lush velvet backrest of the oversized armchair, my gaze drifting to the mesmerizing flames dancing in the grand fireplace. The crackling sound provided a comforting symphony, complementing the luxurious cabin's warm and inviting atmosphere. I let out an exasperated sigh, my eyes scanning the clock once more. He was late.
