Heidi pov

They all look at me in silence for a moment, and I know Aliza understands it all. She has lived too many years as a rogue to know the dangers we are facing and who we need to stay far away from.

"No, Heidi," she says when I just look at her. Fear and worry are written all over her face, her eyes are dilated when I see her starting to shake her head.

"Are you sure it was him? You couldn't have mistaken him for someone else?" She asks, and I know she hopes it, but I'm certain it was him without any doubt.

"Yes, I recognized his scent, and there is no question, it was him when I saw his wolf," I tell her when I see Darian walk up behind her and place his hand on her shoulder. He has never been forced to live with the fear we have, he can't understand this from our perspective, even if he tries the best he can.

"You are safe, Aliza, and I want all of you to come here. We will protect you, and I think it's about time you all take our offer," he says, looking at me. I know he means
