Eric’s heart thundered when he thought of all possible reasons for Rita’s return.
‘Did she find incriminating evidence against me?’ He thought but shook his head. It wasn’t possible. He believed his plan was flawless and not even the world’s best hacker could find dirt on him.
With that thought in mind, Eric smirked and visibly relaxed. He turned to look at the directors and said, “so you are going to allow someone who committed fraud to be part of the company’s board of directors? Who knows how she got those shares?”
The directors pondered on the question for a second and gave Rita questioning stares.
Rita inhaled sharply and explained, “firstly, I would like to announce that I got married to Christopher Stevens, the founder and CEO of the Stevens' electronics group.”
“He helped me out and had me released on bail. Right now, we are searching for the culprit who framed me.”
