I sat up quickly as I awoke back in the real world.
“Freya! Thank the goddess. You made it through the transition, we'd lost you there for a bit. It's a miracle,” the Dr said as she helped me sit up more comfortably in the bed.
“Where's Tristan?” I asked in a low raspy voice. I was expecting him to be by my side when I woke up.
“Um, he just popped out for some fresh air, I'll get Aiden to call him back,” she replied, but she sounded flustered. She left the room and I could hear whisper's down in the living room.
