"I still have some money stashed away, so I think I can use it to invest in a company. That way we can gradually grow stronger again. I already think that The Heavenly Sky Diner would be a great investment. After all, me and Jack Lewis go way back," Christopher said hopefully. If he could get his hands on the restaurant, his financial flow problems would be solved instantly.
Christopher phoned Jack Lewis and told him about his proposal. Jack listened attentively to him, but he didn't accept his suggestion at that moment. He simply told Christopher that he would talk to the owner and get back to him.
When Jack Lewis hung up, he immediately called Warren. Warren was quick to answer the phone. Jack told him about what Christopher suggested and he also thought it was a good idea.
Warren smiled when he listened Jack's explanation. That meant that everything was going according to plan. He instructed Jack to tell Christopher that he wouldn't accept anything less than 50 million dollars. He had to transfer the money into a separate account then he would send the paperwork to Christopher.
Jack was confused by Warren's statement. Usually you sign the paperwork before transferring the money, because you could get scammed like that. However, he didn't question Warren's reasons.
After a while, Christopher received a phone call from Jack. Jack explained to him that the owner said he would give up 50 percent of his shares for 50 million dollars. The only catch was that Christopher should send the money before the papers were signed.
Christopher was angered by that. He felt that the owner of The Heavenly Sky Diner was deliberately being difficult. Why should he pay the money upfront. To add to that, he still needed 20 million dollars to have the desired amount that the owner was looking for.
Christopher bargained with Jack and asked him to bring down the price. He explained the financial difficulties he was facing and he hoped that Jack could put in a good word with the owner of the restaurant.
Jack relayed the message exactly like that to Warren. Warren thought about it and he came to a conclusion. He would ask for 40 million dollars from Christopher Chamberlain, but he had to pay the money into the account the next day. Otherwise he should forget about a partnership happening between them.
When Christopher heard that, he was happy that the owner lowered the price by 10 million dollars. That day he went to the bank to borrow 10 million dollars. He mortgaged his villa for the money. He didn't have to worry about paying it back, because he knew how lucrative the restaurant was. In just over a year or three, he could make back all the money he invested.
The following day, the bank approved his loan. With the 30 million dollars he had in savings, Christopher transferred the 40 million dollars to the account that Jack Lewis provided. When he asked for confirmation, Jack told him that he would ask his boss and get back to him.
Meanwhile in Wellington...
Warren, Henry and Samuel finished packing their bags. They were returning to Flemond that day. They enjoyed the few days they spent in Wellington, but they knew they still had to go back otherwise they would fall behind on their academics.
Warren asked Cassidy to keep an eye on the house while he was gone so she was there to see them off. Cassidy drove the three boys to the airport in the Toyota Yaris that Warren inherited from his uncle. Her Chevrolet couldn't fit all of them, so she had to use Warren's car.
On the way to the airport, Warren received a message on his phone. '40 000 000 dollars has been paid into your savings account!' Warren smiled when he saw the text. While he was smiling, he received a phone call from Jack Lewis.
"Mr Cole, sorry to bother. Mr Chamberlain would like to know if you received the payment?" Jack asked politely.
"Yes, it just came through. Could you tell him that I'm on my way back to Flemond right now. He should meet me at the Heavenly Sky Diner tonight at 8 o'clock. Oh, and please tell him to let his son join us," Warren said teasingly. Jack didn't understand why Warren wanted Charles to join too, but he gave the message just like that to Christopher.
Christopher laughed ecstatically. He would get the chance to meet the owner of the Heavenly Sky Diner. He heard rumors about how wealthy the owner was. He bought all the businesses in the Flemond Galaxy District, yet no one knew his identity. The only thing they knew was that he was a man of great influence. And that man wanted to personally meet with Christopher and his son.
In Wellington, Warren and his friends boarded the plane. They were excited on getting back. None more than Warren. He would finally see Charles again. After what he did to his uncle, Warren never saw his face again. He didn't know how he would react if he saw the bastard face to face again.
Four hours later, Warren was taking a shower in his dormitory room. Luckily he wasn't too tired, so he had enough time to go to the automobile center where he wanted to buy the Bugatti Chiron. Warren arrived there at 3 o'clock the afternoon. He looked scanned the cars and his eyes came to rest on a black Chiron. Warren was excited, because he would finally get his hands on his dream car.
He looked for a salesperson and he finally met one. "Excuse me Miss, could you please tell me if the Bugatti Chiron is still up for purchase?" Warren asked politely.
The lady looked at him as if he had some contagious disease or something. Warren was wearing ragged clothing and he was in such a luxurious place asking about the most expensive car they had on show.
"Yes, but it is worth 5 million dollars. You would be better off looking at cheaper alternatives," the lady answered in an irritated tone.
"5 million dollars? The last time I was here, another salesperson told me that you still had to import the car, but it wouldn't be worth more than 3 million dollars," Warren said. Although he could afford the car easily, he knew that the sales lady was trying to do him in.
"If you cannot afford it, just get going. Stop making excuses!" the lady said again. She was getting fed up with Warren pretending as if he could afford the car. She deliberately said the car was worth more than it was, in order to scare Warren away. But he didn't budge at all.
"Miss, I would like to speak with the manager!" Warren said irritatedly. He couldn't deal with the rude salesperson anymore.
"Is something the matter?" a man asked when he heard the two were arguing. Warren recognized the man. He was the same person who told him that the Chiron would arrive in two days. Unfortunately, Warren wasn't there to pick it up. The salesman was waiting for him ever since then.
When he recognized Warren, the salesman had a huge smile on his face. "Sir, the car that you asked for, has finally arrived. Are you here to complete the purchase?" the man asked.
The sales lady from before was surprised that the salesman knew Warren. It seemed like Warren has inquired about the car before. That meant he knew exactly how much the car was worth.
"I'm here to buy the car, but your colleague suddenly told me the price skyrocketed to 5 million dollars. Is this true?" Warren asked the salesman.
"Not at all, Sir," he answered as he looked at the lady with furious eyes. The lady bowed her head slightly to escape his gaze.
"The car is worth 2,5 million dollars. Or is the price still too high for you? We can talk to the manager about a discount," the man offered politely.
"No, it's fine. I would like to know, how much commission would you earn if I buy this car from you?" Warren asked the salesman.
"Commission on anything worth more than 1 million dollars is 8 percent," the man answered.
Warren smiled and looked at the man. He was really helpful. He didn't judge him although he was wearing ragged clothes. He even remembered Warren's face from the last time. Warren was impressed by his professionalism.
"Good, I would like to buy this car at 2,5 million dollars from you, right now!" Warren said suddenly.
"Are you sure? We can negotiate, it will not be too difficult to get a discount on the car," the salesman tried to explain. However, Warren was adamant in his decision. He wanted to pay full price for the car. He also wanted the salesman to complete the deal so that he may earn the commission since the lady was rude to him. The salesman got the necessary paperwork ready. The sales lady on the other hand were holding her breath, hoping that Warren couldn't afford the car. If he could, then that would mean she lost a huge customer and her colleague would get the commission that should have been hers. The salesman gave Warren the machine to pay. Warren swiped his card and entered his pin. There was a beep and the transaction was complete. When she heard that sound, the sales lady fell to the ground. She just lost out on 200 thousand dollars. That was the commission that her colleague received. Why was life so unfair to her. Warren signed the contract and t
Allison blushed when she felt Warren's gaze all over her body. She simply tried to look the part, but it came as a surprise to her that Warren would gawk so openly at her. "I'm ready," she said awkwardly as Warren was still admiring her beauty. Warren came to his senses and remotely opened the door for Allison to get in. The two of them then drove in complete silence to the Heavenly Sky Diner. Warren had everything worked out and Allison's presence was just an added bonus. It would serve as confirmation to the father and son that he isn't someone they should've messed with. When they arrived at the restaurant, Warren helped Allison out of the car and parked it. The two of them entered the restaurant and Jack Lewis was personally there to welcome them. He was as polite as he usually was when he saw Warren, but he was a little bit nervous when he saw Warren came with Allison Banks. She was someone that even people of the caliber of Jack Lewi
"From what I can tell, they shouldn't have died in such a manner," Christopher responded. "If it was you who was forced to watch the execution of, your son, for example, what would you have done?" Warren asked. When Charles heard Warren's question he felt a cold shiver down his spine. He knew Warren was just making an example, but it somehow felt like a threat. "I would hunt down that person and kill him. If that wouldn't be enough to satisfy my rage, I will annihilate his whole family!" Christopher said. Although he was angry at Charles currently, he would do everything in his power to protect his son. "Mr Chamberlain, I will let you know, the funeral of my uncle and aunt was tragic. We were only six people present, that's how small my family is. Of the six people, four were my friends and the other, the priest. So currently I'm alone. Do you know how I feel right now?" Warren asked again. This time his voice was louder and he was c
Upon arrival at the villa, Christopher called everyone immediately. They rushed to the living room where they saw the incapacitated Charles. He was just lying there on the floor, unable to do anything. Before anyone could ask what happened, Christopher signaled them to be quiet."There is something important I have to tell you all. I just came from a meeting with the owner of the Heavenly Sky Diner. Coincidentally he is also the man who robbed me of my company," Christopher said. The rest of his family members were in an uproar when they heard that. "That bastard! I hope you thought him a lesson!" said Harold Chamberlain, Christopher's brother.Christopher eyes became teary. He shook his head as he fell to the ground."I believe all of you heard rumors of Charles killing an old couple a few days ago. It turned out Charles killed the people who raised the owner, Warren Cole. To add to that, Charles even forced Warren to watch as he ordered his men to slit
Back in Flemond, Warren just arrived in front of the Stargaze Hotel. He opened the doors and walked Allison to the entrance."I'm sorry you had to witness what happened tonight. I'm not usually that violent," Warren said apologetically.Allison replied with a smile. She didn't know what to say. It was evident that Warren was heartbroken that Charles killed his uncle and aunt, but the punishment that Warren gave to Charles was a little too extreme, even for Allison. A quick death would have been alright, but forcing him to live his life as an invalid was a harsh punishment."It's alright, Young Master. Will I see you at the office tomorrow?" Allison asked. She didn't want to talk about what happened that night."I don't think I will be able to go to the office, however I might need you somewhere else," Warren responded. He had the contract which states that Chamberlain Pharmacy was legally his, however the company needed a name change. Wa
Reluctantly they made their way into Infinity Casualwear. Samuel led the way, however, they still had to maneuver in such a way that they don't get ran over. It seemed like they picked a bad day to visit the shop, since almost everyone in Flemond was apparently there that day."Let's get the clothes and get out of here," Warren suggested. He didn't like being surrounded by so many people. His anxiety was acting up.A person ran into him from behind. To his surprise it was Claudia, the girl who Warren was caught peeping at."What do you think you're doing here?" Claudia asked irritatedly. Infinity Casualwear was a shop for the high class and it surely didn't cater to the likes of Warren. Having to run into him at a place like this was embarrassing for Claudia."I'm only here to buy a little something. I don't see what it has to do with you," Warren responded. He was in no mood to talk with her. Especially after the misunderstanding that h
"Please don't hurt me!" Claudia cried nervously. Warren looked at her panicked state and it even caught him by surprise. He didn't think the girl would be that rattled after Warren defeated five of her men. "Don't worry. I'm not going to do anything to you. However, I need you to keep everything that happened here today a secret. We can't let people know the five men you got to beat me up lost so miserably. What would they think of you?" Warren said smugly. He knew he really wanted to keep his strength a secret, but his reasoning made sense to Claudia. It would be an insult if people came to know that she hired such useless scum to get rid of Warren and yet they still failed in doing so. "What are you going to do with me?" she asked again. It didn't make sense to her that Warren would let her go just like that. He must've still held a grudge after she beat him over the head like that. "Since we're alone, I want to clear up one misunderstanding. I
One hour later, Warren and Samuel walked into the cafeteria. They didn't have time to buy anything for lunch, so they though grabbing something quickly would suffice.Warren was clad in some of his new clothing. He wanted to see if people would still refer to him as a pauper if they saw him dressed neatly. As expected, the moment they set foot in the cafeteria, everyone's eyes immediately fixed itself on Warren. They didn't think he would return after what happened to him. The looks they gave were not looks of admiration as Warren expected, but rather looks of pity. Warren had to lose his family in such a gruesome manner, yet he couldn't even seek justice from the law, because Charles promised to retaliate if he did. A young girl walked over to Warren and embraced him with a hug."Mr Cole, I'm so sorry about what happened. I didn't know how you were doing, so I thought I'd leave you alone. Please accept my apology," Christina said.
