Kain’s eyes drifted to Trey who shifted slightly in his sleep but before he could muster his glare, Denise slipped in front of him, blocking his view of bed. “What do you want?” She repeated. “Even if you people keep me here like this, there is no way in hell that I’ll accept it as my fate! I’ll never be one of you and I’ll NEVER call myself a royal. Tell the Queen I want to speak with her. I have no dealings with you.” Her eyes gave him a displeased once over before she turned on her feet and stepped off. Her retreat was a clear sign that their conversation would go no further, but Kain made no move to leave.

“Before anything else…” Kain spoke again as he watched her back move further and further away. She had not lost her poise. “I should say I spoke with that worthless father of yours.”
