Chapter 27 A Date?

This sudden intrusion startled me, I looked up at the intruder, only to be shocked again.

Xander was standing in the doorway, his presence sent a ripple of surprise through me, for I hadn't expected him to return. He looked baffled and hesitant.

"Xander," I said, taken aback by his sudden change in demeanor. "What brings you back? Is everything alright?"

His hand rubbed the back of his neck, a nervous tic I hadn't seen before. "I... I wanted to talk to you about this morning," he stammered.

I gestured towards the empty chair across from my desk. "Please, have a seat. We can talk while sitting, you look tired."

Once he was settled, I asked “So what about the morning?”

“I shouldn’t have done that.” he said, looking at me with somber eyes.

“And what was that, I am not able to recall it, please help me to recall it,” I baited him.

Because I was well aware of what he was talking about. He was talking about when he left me like he hadn’t heard me and ignored my suggestion.
