Chapter 36 – Don't want to be her side-cock

“Are you two together?” Doreen froze at the door when she saw their uncompromising position. Since Gabriel had not discussed with Maeve how she wanted the relationship to be, his only motive was to rebuke his sister when Maeve asked,

“Can you keep a secret?”

Her gaze was focused on Doreen, the latter smiled and nodded her head whiles she replied,

“Better than anyone.”

Maeve glanced at Gabriel and her cheeks burned before she looked at Doreen again and said, “Then yes. We only settled our differences today.”

She disappointedly lifted herself from Gabriel’s lap but was engulfed in a warm hug from Doreen. Maeve hugged her back, her disappointment at not getting the kiss she so much desired fading away.

Gabriel was shocked and asked Doreen, “You are not upset?”

“Why should I be? This is what I’ve always wanted for the two of you, nothing less,” Doreen responded while hugging Maeve tighter. When she pulled away, Maeve went back to her desk while Doreen sat in front of Gabriel.
