Chapter 28

I woke up with a heavy head. I was still lying on the messy bed. There was hardly anything covering me, so I shivered from the cold when I reached for the blanket. I was sweating profusely, but my body felt icy cold. Rodrigo was no longer in the room, and I was the only one lying down.

I stared at the ceiling, trying to remember what happened yesterday. I felt so exhausted that it felt like I had lifted something heavy. I instinctively held my stomach when it suddenly churned. I was hungry. I turned on my side and tried to fight off the hunger pangs. There was no food in sight, and I didn't want to go downstairs. I was afraid of the people here. But after a few moments, I felt my throat getting dry. I couldn't take it anymore, so I forced myself to get up and look for what I wore last night. I only found Rodrigo's long sleeve, so I put it on.

"Ouch..." I groaned weakly. I could barely stand properly as if my knees suddenly became weak. My head throbbed, and my rear end and back hurt.
