CHAPTER 67

SAMANTHA'S POV

"Would he be alright?" I asked the doctor who stood by the end of the bed as he packed up his tools quietly.

My eyes had not left Emilio's face since I entered the room.

There was a bandage wrapped around his shoulders now and he was still not opening his eyes. I had been expecting that I would meet him with his eyes open the sooner I entered but clearly, that was not to be. An IV tube attached to his hand as well was dropping in little by little. The entire room smelled of blood and drugs.

"The worst part would be considered over totally if he makes it through the night." The doctor said to me,

"What do you mean by that?" I demanded.

"I would be monitoring him all through the night but we should be better prepared for a fever outbreak or something. A gunshot wound is not something to be toyed with, ma'am." He said to me,
