OLIVIA
I woke up in a daze, almost blinded by sun rays. My eyes were squinted as I looked around and raised a brow in confusion when I saw a clean blue room, the walls were well-painted and I snapped my eyes open in shock.
I sat up immediately, turning my head as I glanced around and gasped when I saw two maids, an open closet filled with clothes and food on the table. My mouth watered instantly and my tummy chose that time to growl.
I was fascinated and bewildered. I could remember Alpha Louis carrying me in his arms out of the pack house before I passed out. I wanted to know how I got into this beautiful room and on this soft bed.
Seeing maids beside me, watching me with a smile made me very uncomfortable. I began to panic as I thought about what was waiting for me in this pack.
Between Alpha Louis and Alpha Wilder, it's hard to determine who's worse but then the devil you know is better than the angel you do not know. “Is anything wrong, miss?” A maid demanded, wondering why I had a frown on my face.
“No, it… it's fine” I replied, sitting up immediately. She looked at me, doubtful and I sighed.
“How… How did I end up here? Where am I?” I asked the question bugging my mind.
“This is the moonlight pack and you were brought by Alpha Wilder at midnight. You had passed out and he ordered us to look after you after the doctor assured us that there was nothing wrong with you. I’m Lydia, your personal maid” Lydia replied with a polite bow and I choked on my saliva.
I must be hearing wrongly. A personal maid, for me? She must be mistaken, I'm sure Alpha Wilder must have asked her to take care of me till I wake up but why? I’m not useful to him so why did he ask her to take care of me?
Was he really serious about me being his mate? That's crazy because I don't think people from different packs can be mates. I've never heard of any case before and to make it more insane, a wolfless being like me is mated to the alpha of the most powerful pack, also having two mates! The moon goddess must surely be playing tricks with me. What did I ever do to deserve this?
“Did I say something wrong?” Lydia asked and I shook my head and she pointed at my cheek. I raised my hand only to touch water on my cheek, tears had involuntarily rolled down.
“I'm fine” I replied, turning my face and she nodded, moving to the closet where she checked out several dresses. “Would you like to go for red or blue? You don't have to worry, Alpha wilder might look all tough and wicked but you have no reason to be scared of him. He seems to be interested in you seeing how worried he was” Lydia replied and I just nodded.
I got out of bed and almost fell, my legs were quivering but I managed to walk to the bathroom where I slumped in the tub. I didn't want to thin, I just wanted the water to cool my mind and soul, damn the future. Things are already bad, no essence in wishing for a miracle to happen.
I've given up already, whatever Alpha Wilder or Alpha Louis wanted to use me for, they're free. Maybe one day the moon goddess would be merciful to kill me.
“Are you alright miss?” I heard Lydia's voice and shook my head, dissuading all thought, I can't tell for how long I'd been gone and made her knock on the door. I stood up and used the sponge and soap on my body, draping my body in a towel before I stepped out and she sighed with relief.
“Girl you got me worried, you should say something if anything is wrong” Lydia scolded and I nodded, wearing the long gown she placed and the underwear which was surprisingly my size.
“Yes,” I muttered. “It's fine, have your meal then head off when you finish. Just walk straight to the hall and ask for the garden, if you wanna watch a movie then ask for the cinema and if you need anything do not hesitate to speak” Lydia muttered and I nodded.
She left with the other maid and I opened the food, licking my lips as I began eating hungrily. I was rushing the food like it would be taken away when I stopped eating.
It didn't take long for me to finish everything and I sighed, wondering what I would do inside alone and till the moon goddess knew when. “Should I head out? No, what if I see Alpha Wilder? What would people think of me if they saw me outside?” I battled weakly within myself and the door opened, the maid from before entered to take the plates.
“Is… is alpha wilder outside?” I demanded and she shook her head negatively before leaving with the dishes. Since he is not around, I should head out to look around. I stood up and opened the door, looking around to check if the coast was clear before I stepped out.
I stepped out, tiptoeing like some criminal as I began walking towards the main entrance. I was a few doors away when I heard a shrill male scream. I tried to ignore it, thinking I was imagining things but I heard the cry of a man and I began to panic as curiosity began to seep in.
My legs were rooted to the spot as I wondered who it was and why he was crying. “Could it be Alpha Wilder? No, the maid said he wasn't around so who could it be?” I failed to notice my moving legs as I debated whether to go or not.
I gasped when I saw myself standing outside the door where the sound was coming from. I wanted to turn and run but I heard an authoritative voice.
“Do you think you can hide away from me? Did have a lifetime of fun in those two years because I'm afraid this is where your journey ends” I heard Alpha Wilder’s voice and my bones began trembling but for some unknown reason, I couldn't control my body again.
“You're evil!”
“Yes, I agree, I'm the devil himself. I'm going to kill you the same way I killed your gang, painfully and slowly” I heard a dark chuckle from Alpha Wilder after he said those words and gasped, covering my mouth.
“Please… don't kill me!” I heard the man's scream and opened the door. To my surprise and mortification. I saw the most horrifying scene of my life. A man with his hands bound to his back kneeling on the floor with blood all over his face and right before my eyes, Alpha Wilder swung the long blade in his hands and made a clean cut of the man's neck while rolled to the floor with blood gushing out of his body which fell.
“Arghhhh!” I screamed at the top of my voice and ran out immediately after Alpha Wilder sighted me. His dark eyes made me shiver with fear and I could see anger and hatred in them which terrified me. Did he save me so he could kill me like this man? Would my death be more horrifying than this?
As I ran out, I noticed a shadow following me and I doubled my pace, using all of my strength, I was running for my life and immediately I entered the room, I bolted the door.
I fell, my back resting on the wall as the scene replayed in my head involuntarily and sent shivers down my spine. My heart began racing when the doorknob twisted. Alpha Wilder was knocking gently, his dark and ominous aura petrified my soul and I clutched my heart tightly.
“Olivia, open the door” My heart rose immediately when I heard my voice and I almost collapsed out of anxiety. He began banging on the door, urging me to open the door but I shook my head.
“It's all a misunderstanding, I can explain! Olivis on this damned door!” he instructed. “I can, please don't kill me… please” I pleaded weakly and he cursed under his breath.
“Hell! I Swear I'm not killing you, please open the door” He pleaded and I shook my head although he couldn't see me. I stayed still, my heart pounding with every bang I heard. I was determined not to open it, I'd rather starve to death than die that hideous way.
“Are you going to just let her go that way? Can’t you stop them? Why didn’t you stop them!” Ella yelled and Louis scoffed. “What should I do? Didn’t you just see me cut ties with him? Should I attack him myself and get killed? He’s a ferocious beast when angered, so do you think I can match up with him? Didn’t you hear the story of what he did to his father’s enemy?” Louis demanded, furious that his mate had been taken away. “Why can’t you? He’s an alpha and so are you! You don’t deserve to be called an alpha if you’re scared of someone!” Ella fired and Louis chuckled darkly. “Should I remind you that he came here for you? If only he had taken you along and given you the least punishment then I’ll see whether you have the courage to yell at me” Louis replied with his eyes blazing with fury. “You’re a disgrace! Your mate was taken away and you couldn’t do a thing, you don’t deserve to be called a man!” Ella flung and Viola who had been silent while they argued spoke. “You shouldn’t
Wilder I return home from the office, heading straight for Olivia’s room. I wanted to know if she was awake already and whether she had eaten anything. She slept for a full day and it’s really scary. Wilson almost went feral yesterday after she saw us. If only she had opened the door and listened to my explanation. I wish she would stop being scared of me and start listening to me. It hurts to have a mate who is terrified of you and I hope she becomes comfortable and warms up to me soon. I rushed to her room and opened the door. To my mortification, I couldn’t find her and Wilson let out a rugged growl, it was more like a warning for me to find his mate fast. We could scent her faintly and her scent was much more intoxicating than wine. It was doing wonders to my mind and mysteriously filling my soul with peace and calmness. “FIND HER” Wilson howled and I rushed out, ready to turn the whole house upside down to find her when I saw a maid walking. She bowed frightfully the moment sh
Wilder woke up, the smell of antiseptic making his stomach burn and the white ceiling making his eyes turn. He stood up immediately and began removing the drip attached to his hand. The nurse rushed to him and he glared at her, making her step back. “Wilder, you…” Doctor Mary panicked hastily but he had removed it and was heading to Luna Gloria’s room. He rushed inside to see the maids trying to feed his mother who didn’t want to accept it and he pushed her aside, grabbing the flask from her hand. “Mom, please you need to eat so you can take your medications and live healthily” He pleaded and Gloria just smiled with her eyes shining. “I can’t Wilder, we both know the truth. There’s no point in hiding it. I’m only happy that I got to meet Olivia before I passed on. You’re in safe hands, please treat her well” Gloria replied and Wilder shook his head with tears streaming down his face. “No! Mom… You don’t have to die, wouldn’t it be nice to see me get married to her and see our gran
Wilder spent the evening with Gloria, he was smiling not because he was happy but because he didn’t want her to see him mourning. He wanted her last moment to be filled with smiles and happiness. It was sunset already and they had to return home. Wilder didn’t feel like leaving, he wished they could live there forever and forget about the world but Gloria urged him to pack up things. With his hand intertwined with hers, they both walked towards the car, silence descending as both got sucked into their thoughts. Wilder opened the car and Gloria got in, she placed his head on her lap. She began brushing his hair softly while singing the lullaby he loved when he was a kid. Tears were streaming down Wilder’s cheek as he closed his eyes and listened to her calm voice. She was the only woman he had genuinely before getting his mate. They arrived at the pack house and Wilder helped Gloria get out of the car. Ella rushed forward, trying to grab Gloria’s second hand but Gloria ignored her
Wilder stepped out, heading to his room. He pulled his shirt immediately, tossing it aside as he grabbed a lighter and lit up a cigarette while staring at the window. “You don’t have to worry about her too much. She’s a Luna, a very strong one at that, she has been scaling through tall these years and I’m sure she will again. You don’t have to worry” Ella muttered as she wrapped her hands around his waist, pressing her head on his back and he removed her hand gently, feeling very uncomfortable with her scent and touch. Her gaze, her sound and everything about her just didn’t feel right. “You don't understand Ella, you don’t have to worry, I’ll get someone to drop you off tomorrow. Next time, you shouldn’t come uninvited” Wilder moved back slightly and Ella shook her head, pressing forward. “No! You need someone to lean on at a time like this, I’m your friend Wilder and you can tell me anything. I can help you at a time like you… You really need someone by your side” Ella replied, he
“Olivia! Olivia!” Ella screamed, panicking at first and some maids rushed to her side, startled to see Olivia on the floor. They also hit and pinched Olivia, trying not to conclude but they began to grow nervous with each passing minute. “Is… is she dead?” Ella demanded and the maids nodded, shock coursing through their bodies. Jeremy saw the small gathering and rushed to their midst. He placed his head on Olivia’s chest and listened to her heartbeat. “She’s not dead” He muttered and Ella shook her head. “I think she is. I’ve slapped her several times and she isn’t moving, you should try hitting her” Ella suggested and Jeremy nodded, pinching her gently at first. He hit her when he saw no reaction and surprise flashed in his eyes as he tried to understand what was happening. How could a dead person still be breathing? “I… I’m confused” “So am I. I don’t think she’s alive, her breathing isn’t visible except if you listen carefully… I think she’s dead” Ella announced and Jeremy sigh
“We shouldn’t have saved her! Why did you!” Logan whispered heatedly and Leo just sighed. “There was no way I could have left her. We had to save her, I’m just doing a good deed and when she’s awake she can go her way” Leo replied and Logan sighed, pacing around. “She’s been unconscious throughout the night. Would she ever wake up? Her feet are swollen, she looks sick. I do not want to be bothered with anything” Logan complained with an aloof look and Leo sighed. “Look man, we’re just helping a lost kitten. Logan stop acting this way, try to be considerate for once. What’s so bad about helping just a single soul in one year?” Leo demanded. “Everything is bad. First I detest ladies, second I hate ladies who are weak and pass out on the road, third I have a bad feeling about her” Logan replied and Leo almost burst into laughter. “Man, you're funny. We saw her at her weakest point doesn't mean she's weak. She might be stronger than we think, who knows whether she's some billionaire i
WILDER I gulped down whiskey directly from the bottle, cleaning my mouth with my palm. The burning sensation in my truth wasn’t enough. It was minimal compared to what was in my heart. I felt broken, my body isn't functioning well and Wilson? Well, I just shut him out. I was tired of him whining about his mother and mate. I was also passing through a lot and facing it independently was best. He was combating his tears and howling and I was doing mine with alcohol. The alcohol didn’t seem to be working but at least it made me pass out after I reached my limit. I felt like a complete failure. Why the hell was I living when I’ve lost every fucking right to be alive. I should jump down a cliff, hang myself, stab myself. I should do one fucking thing! I angrily threw the bottle at the door and heard a gasp that didn’t bother me anyway. Nobody deserves to live when my mate and mother are dead. “Wi… Wilder…” I heard Ella stutter and I raised my eyes, glancing at her with disdain befo
