HIS DARK DESIRES

Chapter one

(A wedding without a groom)

In the full length mirror, Lilly stood, the makeup on her face radiated her beauty Making her look like an angel.

But she was no angel, they didn't believe she was an angel instead they called her a murderer's daughter.

They thought she deserved nothing but death.

But behind the makeup done on her face, her sorrows were seen.

Though she never cried when words were thrown her way but she couldn't deny the fact that it still hurt.

But the first time she had let her guard down by letting her emotions run loose was at the death of her father.

The incident played in her head every single day and night.

Each time she walked the streets, she would tremble for it was on the street she lost an important person in her life.

It was in the cold freezing night the accident occured, the screeching sound of a truck accompanied by a loud bang filled the air and in that moment, a body dropped along the wet streets with a loud thud.

"Dad!" She yelled, her feet running towards the body where she knelt down seeing him bleed terribly with blood seeping from both his mouth and his body where he had sustained a major injury.

With fidgeting hands, she reached forward pressing her palm on the wounds trying to lessen the blood flow as hot warm tears dripping down her eyes and on to his face.

"Please help me. Someone call the ambulance!"

Her words reached the ears of the passer by, making the man to pull out his phone dialling a number.

"Please someone, call an ambulance" she cried out for one of the onlookers to bring out his phone dialling a number.

"Dad please stay with me" she pleaded, her sobs loud enough to attract the passerbys who now neared her.

"I'm... I'm fine" he said trying to comfort his trembling daughter, his fingers going to wipe away the puddle of tears cradled up in her eyes.

A painful groan leaving his lips as he did so.

"Don't cry Dear" he stated but all his words ever did was to give a cause for more tears to pile up her face.

"Why did you? Why did you have to do this? Why did you have to save me?" She cried trying to stop the blood by applying more pressure.

She was the one to be hit down by the truck but he came in and saved her.

"I couldn't watch you die rather I'll go" a weak subtle smile crept up his lips and with no regrets for his action, he kept a constant look at his daughter fearing it might be the last.

"I didn't do it. I'm not a murderer" he cried out with a hoarse voice, his words coming out like a whisper but still audible to her ears.

"I didn't do it" he said for Lilly who held onto her father to nod.

"I know. You wouldn't hurt a fly and that's why I need you with me. I need you so you can prove yourself" she said, the anxious tranquility within her rose to its peak when the sound of the blaring ambulance could be heard, her gaze going to it's direction and only then did a smile form on her lips.

"Please hold on. The ambulance is here"

"Please promise me three things" blood seeped from his wounds as he spoke and even with the pain gnawing at his Inside, he managed to speak.

Lilly shook her head not wanting to hear it but it couldn't stop him from voicing his mind.

"To my first wish, promise me you'll take care of your mother at all cost.

Promise me you'll be happy. And thirdly, Promise me you'll would live your life to the fullest without any regrets"

Lilly felt a squeeze in her hand, though the atmosphere was cold she could feel the warmth he emitted.

"I will but I will do that with you in it.

We will both be happy and take care of mom"

"I might not make..." At this blood splattered from his mouth sipping down its side where it came in contact with the tears that mixed with it.

"You'll make it!" She said adamantly

"Just believe okay? I can't live without you"

"Cesar is a good man he's just filled it rage.

Do take care of him.

Do everything it takes to make you happy"

And just like that, he smiled for the last time, his hand which continuously wiped away her tears fell back down to the ground with his eyes growing dim.

A gentle shake from Lilly to her father was made but no response was seen and with a loud ear deafening scream, she yelled pouring at her heart on the road.

That night was a horror to Lilly for she had lost the only thing that gave meaning to her life.

She had lost her loved one and family.

She had lost her father.

And like that, time flew with the rays of the sun going down only to be replaced by the moon which illuminated a glow and by that time, Four months had passed.

There wasn't a time she wouldn't think back on the incident that took his life.

He was a good man but they didn't see that.

They Blamed him for the death of the two most prestigious people in New York City.

Mr and Mrs Donavon.

But that's a lie, a big flat lie.

He was framed but there was no way to prove it and now he was gone, no sympathy was given. She alone had to bury her father, it wasn't grand but it was still something.

But with his death, they decided to pour out his blames to her.

To punish her the way they see fit.

' She's her father's daughter so she must pay' They said.

And now, she stood all dolled up to be engaged to the only son of the Donavon family,  Mr Cesar Donavon.

They had once loved each other, curdled in each other's embrace but that was during the time when all this commotion never happened.

Fifteen years ago, Cesar was believed to be an orphan so out of pity, her family took him In.

People would compliment them saying they were a lovely couple but now, that love turned to hate.

A hate filled with a strong passion for revenge as fifteen years later, he ruined her peaceful home blaming her father for the death of his family.

He wasn't the sweet man she knew him to be instead, he was an agent of darkness in her life.

A force that seeked to extinguish any form of light.

The gentle knock from the door lured her out of her thoughts, and looking at its direction, a woman stood.

"IT IS TIME" she Informed and with a sigh, she left the mirror heading out.

After taking a glance at herself admiring the red dress and the jewelries she wore, she left the room heading to the Hall of the procession.

Loud muttering of the people were heard behind the doors and only when the door was pulled open, the massive crowd was seen with their gazes on her, their sneers and scoffs could be heard.

"Can't believe she's getting married?"

"She deserves way worse" they said.

"Pathetic" said another.

Their words could be heard by Lilly who didn't flinch or be surprised and instead, she walked down the hall.

But their words didn't matter to her for she felt she was an empty void simply waiting to be crucified.

Finally she arrived at the forefront,

But there was NO GROOM.
