Chapter One hundred and fifty four

TWO MONTHS LATER….

I smiled as I nodded, taking the glass of water as he helped me to the bed.

“You’re sure you’re fine? If not, I can always call the doctor and….” Before he could finish speaking, I shook my head, taking a deep breathe.

“I am fine, Alaric. Don’t worry.” I told him as I secretly turned to the maids behind him who were teasing me and he rolled his eyes.

“Call me if you need anything, alright?” He asked me and I nodded.

“I will.” I told him and when he was sure, confirming for more than a million times that I was fine, he left.

I could see the maids giggling and this maid me feel embarrassed. “You can go now. I want to rest.” I told them and they bowed as they left.

I sighed as I pulled the sheets closer to myself, closing my eyes as I let out a deep exhale. “He doesn’t have to show he’s that worried, does he?” I clicked my tongue as I rolled on the bed, trying to get the perfect position to rest, even though it was almost all to no avail.
