Chapter one hundred and fifty five

AMELIA’s POV…

Tears streamed down my cheeks as I stared at the girl who seemed to have a hole in her chest that felt like it was from an arrow, battered skin and dried blood coming out of her.

I turned to Alaric and he didn’t seem to have any expression on his face and this caused my heart to clench. I swallowed as I took an inch away from him.

“And why have you brought her here, to this auspicious ceremony? Or do you not know that I am about to be wed?” He asked the man as he took out his sword.

The man bowed as he shook his head. “This might be nothing to you, Lord Alaric, as you have done worse. Lives may mean nothing to you, but this is my only daughter and if she dies, I do not know what I will do without her.” The man said and more tears streamed down my cheeks.

As someone who had only one family, Lilly, all her life, I could only imagine what he was going through as he fell to his knees.

“Save my daughter, Lord Alaric, please. I do not want her to die.” He said as he cried and
