Chapter one hundred and seventy one

AMELIA’s POV…

As I staggered through the hallway, I could see people staring at me strangely, but no one said a word about it while I passed by. Contrary to Alex’s pack, they weren’t looking down at me. They just seemed to be, I don’t know, worried for me?

“Are you alright, my Lady?” A maid who was bold enough walked up to me and I nodded as what had happened earlier came back to mind, causing me to cry harder as I almost fell, but before I could, she grabbed me as she kept her tray on the table, and immediately, two other maids joined her to hold on to me.

“You don’t seem to be alright. We’ll get you to your room now.” They said as they started to help me to my room as I looked around the place weakly.

They helped me to the bed, tucking me in as they helped me with a glass of water.

“Get some rest, my lady. You’ll be fine.” They told me and I nodded as I forced a smile even though I wasn’t really in the mood for it.
