Chapter 2

  Shekinah’s POV

“What did you say?” I asked, looking over my shoulder at  personal assistant, Vivian 

I was at my office window looking out of it when Vivian  came interrupting my thoughts but well, she would not do that if it were not something that would be very interesting to me. Vivian shrugged with her  face tilting to the side. “It’s a huge deal”

I took a seat on my office chair as I finally found something to take me out of the thoughts that only had mine and king’s  relationship around it.

 “It’s a six hundred million dollar deal. It will run for six months. Not only does it give us a great profit but it takes our company past all the borders we have crossed. There is also a chance of getting more profit” Vivian  kept telling me the perks of this deal 

 I was excited and curious to know what the problem was. Truly. It’s not every day you get such deals but she  was  not telling everything just yet. “You’re holding something back” I spilt my thoughts to her 

Vivian  nodded as she sat up, placing her both hands on the table. “I am” she  admitted to it

I sat up picking up the files she drop on the desk. “Then tell me”

“It involves Adrian Alero” Vivian said then stopped

 It has been a while since I heard that name. It made the side of my lips curved up remembering the last time I did hear that name. Vivian  kept going and I listened carefully

“What about him?” I was getting infuriated by Vivian’s constant restraint. 

They are the ones running the project. I know him and the king  are not on good terms but you would not want to let this sort of deal slip through our hands. I can call it once in a lifetime thing”

 I agree” I responded with a nod.

“How did you find this out?”

“He proposed the idea to a friend of mine and that friend brought the deal to us. He knows we can handle it best. Moreover, we are known for it too” Vivian said.

 “That friend must be a good one” I commented, my mind already wandering .

“Very. He took a lot of great effort to get it for us. Would you go for it? We need to put aside the hatred and work with him for the benefits'. I’m just scared of one thing”

“What’s that Vivian?”

 “King. He might not agree to this”

 I scoffed. “Leave that to me”

“I knew my agreement to this arrangement was shocking to Vivian . Why would it  not? King an Adrian had hated each other for so long it felt  like they  had an enmity when we were both in the womb. Well, not only was I agreeing to this so I could have such great benefits coming into the company but I also had an opportunity to come face to face with him again. 

“Where do we begin? The documents?” I inquired which brought Vivian out of her thoughts 

“It’s not with me. You need to meet a representative of Adrian  at an exclusive bar. There you both will discuss and sign the documents” vivian explained

“The one we know?” I asked and vivian shook his head, “No”

“And do we know who this representative is or looks like?”

Vivian  shook her  head. “We would know once we have our eyes on the person”

“When is this meeting?”

“Tomorrow, by 3pm.

I arrived the location 15 mins late only to find out 

Adrian Alero, my mystery man, was his own representative. He never ceased to amaze me and even that day he did the same. 

 Adrian was seated five chairs away from where I stood. He was on the phone although I couldn't hear him, I could tell he was upset with whoever was on the phone. 

My late coming I assumed was inclusive. 

I took a quick glance at the bar, before approaching his table. As I walked towards his direction, his  lips immediately curved up in a big smile. 

  

“Yes, yes. I’ll call you later” he  immediately said and without waiting for a response he  ended his  call with his eyes glued to my body. His  gaze went down my  whole frame then back to my face;my lips and my eyes 

I wondered if he was aware of that night seeing I had my mask on but I didn't care. My unknown identity could have just been for my own good. 

 His eyes remained on me for more than a minute while I gave a cold smile in return. 

I was finally standing in front of him. 

 I  took out her hand for a handshake and without further ado, he took his hand out and gave me  a handshake.

  

“Shekinah Usher ” I introduced myself

He  smiled and did the same, my  handshake firm and professional.

 “Adrian Alero ”

“ Please have your seat” he said, sending a signal to the waiter. A little too nice I felt Adrian was for a man that was fuming with annoyance a few seconds ag
