Chapter 14

KIARA'S POV.

The day dawned crisp and clear. The sun poured through my window. Another day had dawned, bringing with it new hopes and aspirations.

The light of dawn seeped into my room. I rubbed my bleary eyes and walked to the window. There was a pearly glow in the sky.

The first rays of sunlight lit up my room. The dawn chorus of melodic birdsong drifted in. The rising sun cast a rosy hue across the morning sky. Golden fingers of sunlight lit up the scene. The just-risen sun shone softly on the city streets, bringing with it a flurry of early-morning activity.

I stretched my body and made my way to the shower. I didn't know when I came to my bed yesterday. I almost thought I slept on the floor with my head on the table.

After having my bath, I put on my blue gown, the last gift from grandma. She said it would always be my luck, and today I need all the luck I can gather. I feel guilty for falling asleep even when Mila is missing.
