Not the father

Even though she could feel the sunlight reflecting on her face, Carmen refused to open her eyes, and every time she thought about the DNA result, her arms hugged onto the pillow while she squeezed her eyelids.

“Are you awake?” Mrs. Smith called out as she knocked on her daughter's bedroom door.

After knocking a few times, she stopped and patiently waited for a response from Carmen. 

But when she got none, she knocked again and said, “Do you know that it's one o'clock already? How long do you plan to stay in your room? Come out, Dax is waiting for you downstairs with a package.”

Those words forced Carmen to slowly open her eyes. Then she sluggishly got out of bed and dragged her feet as she walked into the bathroom.

When she stood at the basin, Carmen looked at her stomach reflection, softly smiled, and mumbled, “Baby, are you ready to know your father?”

Mr. Smith, Mr. Wilson, and Dax patiently waited
