CHAPTER 41: THE ASSUMPTION

The sound of the ticking clock rang in my ears, the sound of air hitting things, and the loudness of silence.

"I'm sorry, what?"

Serena puffed with those eyes rolling to the back of her head. "How foolish are you, human?"

Making a face, I blew the smoke of her fire. "It's not the first time you told me that I'm an idiot," said a fact. "Although, not always, but you're implying that I am."

"You have heard what I said," she evoked. "However, at this moment, you will take no aid from a golden flower. Instead, you will have to make it real."

I stood up and waved my arms negatively. "I'm sorry, but if you don't know, he's married."
