CHAPTER 48: THE FREEMAN

Standing behind the tall bushes, Monica and I peeped inside the mansion where Eric lives.

It's peaceful, looking like a palace that was kept clean and away from dust at all costs. It's so quiet.

"Are you sure that this is the house?" Monica whispered to me while adjusting her glasses.

"Yeah, I've been here before. I'm 79 percent sure that this is his house."

Turning at me, she gave me a look. "Seventy-nine? That's our lifeline depends? Girl, if we're caught tiptoeing here and acting like burglars or paparazzi, we're dead."

"Not really, but in jail, maybe?"

"Wow, what a nice encouragement. I'm moved," Sarcastically muttered Monica. "Can you be specific, at least? What if we get inside and your speculation is wrong? What are we going to do?"

Stepping on a higher rock, I saw that there were a couple of dog houses sitting by the garden. Who does that?

"They've got two Dobermans, I don't want my bones chewed by those nasty dogs!" She yelled in a whisper.
