I couldn't believe my ears. I didn't know what to feel.

"Are you mad?" He asked, looking uncertain.

I couldn't blame him. I had been nothing but a bitch towards him. "No. Not really."

"You're not? Are you sure?"

"Yes, I'm not mad. Surprised, maybe. But, not mad. Why did you never tell me about the divorce papers?"

"I wanted to, but I didn't have the courage. You were so angry, and I was afraid of getting rejected. You hated me, Avelina. I was scared that you'd never come back to me."

"You should have told me, Lorenzo. We could have been together this whole time."

"I was waiting for the right time. And I knew you weren't ready. If you'd have known the truth, it would have only added to your anger. But, I was going to tell you everything. I had a whole speech planned, and was going to confess everything. Then, we had that stupid fight, and you ended up leaving."
