Chapter 14

Sam-

Slowly sounds started coming back in the dark. Everything around me was so loud, an overwhelming hunger was eating at me. Opening my eyes I tried to look around the lights were far to bring so I closed them again. What was that smell? It smelled like a wet animal and metal.

Everything started slowly coming back to me, the fight at Lily’s the battle in the forest, Caleb attacking me in the cave. I remembered that my leg was broken, slowly I tried my leg and expected to feel the normal flair of pain.

It was then I realized I felt no pain at all, I tried to slowly focus on the sounds around me. I could hear the chatter of people around me but couldn’t focus on the words. Far in the distance, I could smell the familiar pine and vanilla smell I came to find a home in.

Footsteps approached the side of my bed, where was I and why is it so loud in here? Caleb must be close because his smell was getting stronger. There was another smell I could smell; it was grotesque like a wet dog.
