CHAPTER FIFTEEN: THE LUPERCALIA FESTIVAL

He stopped his convertible by a lonely side of the road all of a sudden, after driving leagues away from Alisa’s home at top speed and exhaled deeply.

That had turned out to be harder than he thought.

She was the first woman in three years to charm him so much, and if he did not leave, he would have forgotten all the cherished memories he shared with Avana.

If he had to admit it, it hurt to leave her like he was never there, but it was a necessity. He did not want to forget about Avana and act like she never existed, and it seemed good for Alisa too. She would keep her prized virginity, and complications would never arise from his wolf pack if he had a baby with a human.

This emotion was coming at the right time.

He needed to morph into his wolf form.

He let all the pain he felt on leaving Alisa to envelop him and exaggerated it until it hurt in his chest. He then used his sharp wolf hearing to try to determine if anyone was close by.
