LUCA’S POV
“What did you do?” I ask as soon as I locate Aria, when I finally got to the hospital I kept calling her to find out what that call meant but she hadn’t picked up, so I had gone into Emb’s room just to meet utter chaos, they had asked me to excuse them as she was back in code red.

CHAPTER 64EMBERLYNN’S POV“Whatever you put in that drip is good, I feel stronger” I say as soon as Dr. Sims comes for his morning rounds.He smiles and nods, “Was it the drug in the drip or the fact that you know you're not guilty of the nasty stuff your friend threw at you”, he says.I shrug, “Whatever it is, it’s giving me joy and strength, so I'm grateful”He nods and smiles.I return his smile, I had woken up from my drug induced sleep and found him sitting beside my bed, he said my husband left and so did Aria.He apologized for their attitude and I argued that there was no need, he told me all my husband told him and relieved me of the guilt I felt and then I slept a more rewarding sleep, now I was wide awake and ready to be discharged.“Are you sure you want to leave here? I mean now you get to see your friend unhindered, she might throw worse things your way”, he says.

CHAPTER 66ARIA’S POVShe’s firing me I think, just like that, after all the work I put in, she wants to dispose of me so she will beside Luca and enjoy all his successes, no I think as the words she said replays in my head.“My first decision as the CEO would be to fire Aria, I got dozens of report, you skip work, come late and most times it’s a temp that does your work, I'm not comfortable with that energy, I'm doing a sweep, and I think you should be first to go, thank you for your services, you can do as much as typing your letter, right?” she had said it so casually, with no emotion, as if I didn’t matter, could this be blamed on her memory?Someone doesn’t grow so cold over some loss of memory.“That’s your best friend Emberlynn”, I hear Luca defend me and try to reason with her.She replies him coldly too, her answer is like I'm her property who must conform since I was her best friend.
