Cleo purred happily in the back of my mind at the sight of Max, and he was so divine. His eyes immediately locked on mine, and all thoughts of me running away were thrown off. The second he touched my skin, I wanted him to hold, kiss, and never let go.

I did not care that Miller was standing across from us, staring and hating what he witnessed.

That was his tough luck since he had caused all of this, not me.

“I suppose I should thank you,” Max told Miller with a smirk. Miller glared right at him.

What the hell did Max have to thank my ex-mate for?

He had done nothing but cause me hurt and pain for so long. That was nothing to be grateful for in my eyes.

“Thank me. What on earth is it for?” Miller demanded to know with both his hands on his hips.

“Well, if you had not rejected her, then she would have never been gifted to me. I very much intend on keeping her and making her my queen.” I watched wide-eyed as Max got down on one knee, took my hand, and kissed it.
