"Check the security." Ed suddenly came out of shock and screamed down the phone to whoever answered on the other end.

My mother looked on as if trying to make sense of it all.

uld never have done such a thing." she shook her head in denial and glared at Ed.

I rolled my eyes because she did not know Daniel like she thought she did.

"You believe that, do you?" I scoffed, crossing my arms over my chest.

"Oh, Isla. Stop being a brat. Daniel would not do something like that unless he were provoked. Perhaps if you and Mora had got along much better then things would have been different." she threw at me and glowrred like i were a massive inconvenience to her life.

"He always was your favourite." I growled through clenched teeth.

"Well, he is my child, after all." she retorted.

At least I now knew what she did think of me.

I was nothing to her.

She did not care about me, and clearly, she never had.
