Talia's pov.
Tick'tock Tick'tock
The inky sound of the clock hover the tension between the two of us.The way his fingers touched the chess piece was like a bubble of catastrophe—it's calm yet disastrous.
"Check." He tapped his index finger on the table while humming. The tone was peaceful yet it's like a horrific sound passing through my ears.
I moved the horse on the c7 square and twitched when I saw how he grinned.
"Why did you sacrificed your horse instead of moving your King?" he asked.
His smile grew more predatory, as my lips moved sideways and a twisted grin appeared.
"A sacrificial is the best advantage. You need to take a risk and gamble your pieces to create an advantage," I answered.
I leaned forward, looking utterly cold. I clutched my fingers and fought the urge to smack his face when I saw how he grinned playfully.
Painted in 1562, Bruegel's depiction of this subject of Lucifer falling with his fallen angels is taken from a passage from Revelation 12, and reveals the artist's profound debt to Hieronymus Bosch. This is shown through the grotesque, ugly or distorted, figures painted as half-human and half-apocalyptic creatures.Lucifer was designed to be a perfect angel. He fell from heaven because of his pride and rebellion against God's divine plan, which was to appoint Jesus as the people's savior. Lucifer coerced one-third of the angels to follow his lead in the rebellion and to assist in appointing him to be the new "God." The sin of pride caused the fall of Lucifer and his companions and resulted in the "war in heaven." The archangel Michael was given the duty to drive Lucifer and the fallen angels out of heaven. The conflict of good and evil as well as vice and virtue are constant recurring themes throughout Bruegel's work. The painting is a split landscape with the top port
Third Person's Pov. Northern Lands... "This is what I am pertaining when the Asla tried to crossed the centre mountain. They are just creating their plan while camping at this side, wouldn't it be obvious that they are waiting for us to attack first before them?" "But Commander, it is not yet confirmed that the Asla people is camping at the south side, we need to send some people—" "There's no need Barett, the Asla can't stay one place at a time. I am only giving you an example that they are trying to make us attack first before them," Pursues said to Barett. Barett scratched his head while looking confused. He couldn't understand what Pursues is saying since it's not his level to understand how a royalty thinks. The tent suddenly opened and Misak entered. He was chasing his breath while extremely exhausted. "Your Highness, t-the c-crown p-princess is here." Th
Talia's Pov. "Isn't that the second Prince who brought the victory from the war?" "Really? I didn't realized that it was him. He was a child back then when I saw him in the Palace, he's gotten handsome right?" "I thought so, I heard he's here to find a wife." A wife? Hmm, that's weird. I glanced at his direction who was sipping his wine while leaning against the wall. He looks uninterested. I heard he came back from the war 2 days ago and yet he looks fine, is that how strong he is? Well, he got big muscles and well-built body. A height of 6'10 and his eyelashes were long that it's making me stare longer. His lips were moving sexily while licking the remaining wine from the glass. Is that how seductive a man from the war? I put my wine glass on the table and walked closely to his direction. I remained emotionless until I got closer to him. What is this? He
I felt like someone is indeed watching me inside my chamber. I don't know where and how did he able to watch over me with such distance. A trained assassin? A spy? Or maybe a hunter who was sent to shoot my head? I smirked. "How amusing..." He pointed the riffle on my temple. He leaned closer and grabbed a palm of my hair while wearing an emotionless face. "You charged inside the Imperial Palace and took out the servants who was guarding my chamber. I see..." "It sounds like a mythological hero's tale," I whispered and grabbed the end of the riffle and pressed it harder on my temple. "Wouldn't it be sexier if you press it harder?" I asked and licked my lower lip. Fara was about to stabbed his back but I was able to stop her. "Please don't continue the impolite behavior and leave us." He glanced at Fara before he lowered the riffle. He sat on the table and leaned cl
Dear Duke Seviel Lavescha, How have you been? The trial must have been created a path for you to enlarge your reputation since our side won the trial. I couldn't contact you the moment when the trial ended, I've become too busy and I hardly have enough time to communicate with you. Do you know the story entitled 'The Remember'? A man experiences rapid, reverse evolution. He goes from man to ape to sea turtle, losing about a million years a day. It's a famous tale I heard when I visited the temple. The weather seems nice and I actually want you to taste the new tea I discovered yesterday. Wouldn't it be better for us to have a little chat? I'll be waiting for your news Duke Lavescha. I hope that you will have a great day... Yours,&nb
"What happened to you?"I didn't respond and remained seated on the side of the bed while staring at the window where I can see the fascinating appearance of the moon.I just realized that no matter how we avoid the darkness, it is still important to us.Because without darkness, we cannot see the beautiful image of the moon.I felt his hands on my cheek and the square-sized bandage he put to cover the wound on my cheek. He was making a serious expression while treating my wound.I was about to move when he pressed my chin and mouthed to stay still."If I was the same person in the past, I would really scream because of happiness." I chuckled and slapped his hands away from my cheek.I'm pissed because of the reason that's been bugging me the whole time when I reached the palace. That he changed and that he's different from the past.I don't want to admit it and
Slap....This sharp pain, the taste of blood spilling onto my tongue. Just because you've prepared yourself to be struck, doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt.I knew that..."What's wrong your Highness?""Tell me what—"He slapped me again and grabbed my hair while his eyes were definitely dim."How long can you feign your ignorance?" he asked coldly."I am not feigning my ignorance, I simply don't want to believe it!""But how could I not believe such rumors when I saw it clearly with my eyes? You are trying to cast me aside! I heard it, you're going to make her the Empress!"The way the emitted sound of the broken glass window reminds me of how lonely I am, how he disposes all the belongings I kept inside my room was echoing inside my ears like a thunder clutching my eardrums."I was trying to tolerate you since you are my fiancee, but I will not tole
Savannah's Pov.The duel's term of defeat of losing the handkerchief wrapped around the arm or stepping out of the bounds, to me, it felt like a given victory by her Highness.Clang...The way our wooden swords are exactly dancing the same rhythm is unbelievable. Her sword was like a pen to her, she's carefully swinging her sword while breathing heavily.I'm much stronger than she is.There is no way that she can win against me.I raised my wooden sword. "You've lasted quite long," I whispered."Now release all your fingers and go," I said. I'm trying to snap her out from the illusion of winning against me.Slam...I stabbed her chest and gritted my teeth. And so, that was the destined outcome...She fell down on the ground while blood were scattering from her body. That's what should've happened...But what is going on here?&n
