Chapter 9

We arrived at the Palace by the help of sir Ocea. He said that Hades receive the notice of my absence in the palace and thought that I was at the D'aureville manor.

Fara was carrying Trevor on her arms, she insisted on carrying him since Trevor fell asleep when we were on the carriage.

"Thank your Sir Ocea," I said with a smile on my face.

He seems to be in daze, I tried waving my hand in front of his face to wake him up.

His eyes blinked for a moment before he bowed with panic. "It's a pleasure to serve you, your Highness."

It appears that he needs a better rest since he's about to lose his energy.

Fara was following my steps when we reached the entrance door of the Emerald Palace where I am staying. It's the palace that was given to me by Hades himself, a Palace for Princesses.

I was about to open the door when suddenly Fara pulled me at the back of the wall near the pine trees.

I hissed when I saw the Butler talking with the other servants, he seems to be questioning them about me.

"Fara, you enter first and be careful not to let anyone see him. Especially Hades," I ordered giving Trevor a slight gaze before I stepped forward and walked closely towards the Butler.

"Sir Gavin? Why are you here?" I asked.

He turned around and immediately lowered his head. "My Lady, I didn't know that you're already back."

I chuckled before I moved my eyes on the other servants who was avoiding their eyes from my direction.

"Do you have any business in my Palace?" I asked and emphasized the last words I said.

He looked at the servants before he shook his head. "No my lady, I happen to have a question with the servants working in your Palace," he answered.

He's too careful with his words, I think there's really something about him. I don't exactly remember him in the past, I can only remember that he killed himself and put the blame on me.

"What is this question you're talking about? Perhaps I can answer it," I said with a smile on my lips.

He chuckled before he coughed. "It's fine my lady, I don't want to disturb you."

I watched how he laugh before I gave him a soft smile to lower his guard.

"I'm not that busy Sir Gavin, what would a twelve-year-old girl be doing to have such a busy day?" I asked.

I can see how his eyes changed as if he heard something that triggered him. He's really something that I can't read, I'm really getting curious.

"My Lady, taking care of one's beauty especially as the Crown Prince's fiancee would make you busy. With a beauty like that, I think it's only right for me to apologize for disturbing your time."

I burst a laugh, can't he see the wound on my left cheek? What I'm saying is that he's totally a man with perfume tongue.

"Do you want me to tell you a secret?" I asked.

His eyebrows furrowed. "What secret my lady?"

I gave him a sign to lower his body and he followed it. I walked closely to him before I whispered my secret on his left ear.

"I preferred wielding a sword instead taking care of my beauty since with a sword, I can easily kill those people that irritates me. I mean, I don't like it when I'm being trespassed because it's making my hands itch to cut their heads off."

I stepped back and put my index finger on my lips as a sign of shutting his mouth before giving him a smile.

He was still lowering his body and remained silent while his eyes were on me.

"That's my secret," I said before happily walked pass before him, humming like a bird with my hair bouncing as if it wants me to dance because of happiness.

I think, my mood is getting better these past few days.

It was totally not a secret but a threat, I'm just giving him a warning to not be be too at ease of roaming around my Palace since I'm not that friendly.

I entered my room with my good mood but the level of my mood lowered when I saw Fara and Trevor glaring at each other.

Fara was holding a broomstick while pointing it on Trevor's direction who was on the bed, scoffing while holding the large pillow.

What the fuck are they doing?

"You guys..." I paused and breathe heavily before I smiled, calming myself.

When Trevor turned his head in my direction, he immediately get down from the bed before running towards me.

"Stay away from him your Highness, he's a two-faced monster!" Fara warned me and I saw how her expression darkened when Trevor hugged my waist.

"He's still a child Fara," I said softly to calm her down.

"But..."

"I know what I'm doing Fara," I says giving her a cold stare to stop her from worrying.

I don't know if it's only me but I think I saw Trevor smirked.

I tried to check his expression again but it was normal, did I see it wrong?

Trevor was sitting beside me on the bed while trying to peek on the magazine I've been reading.

"What's that master?" He pointed the picture of a crossbow making me grinned.

"That's a crossbow, you can use it for hunting or when you're killing someone in distance," I answered.

Somehow, I think I might need to replenish my mind by playing with Trevor. "Do you want to play with me?" I asked.

He nodded and beamed, that's good.

"What is this master?" he asked while swinging the wooden sword.

I chuckled before stretching my arms. "It's a sword, we're going to play this game. It's called, training yourself to kill."

His eyes sparkled like a star that falls from the sky. I don't exactly know what time is it, but I can say that it's already in the middle of the night and we're using the backyard of the Emerald Palace where the servants usually do the laundry.

The wind started to feel heavy, my hair was blown by the wind as I positioned myself and my sword.

He was still looking at me, not moving from the place where he was standing.

"Master you're not my enemy," he said making me chuckled.

"I am, Trevor. There's only one thing you need to remember, in the future when everything will already end, the sword that will struck in your heart will be my sword. I will be the one to kill you," I says.

"Why?" he asked.

Because I don't want to bring myself on hating you more.

If only I was the only one you betrayed, I might even accept it wholeheartedly. Since you were just in love and because of that fucking love, you lose your humanity and betrayed us.

I have so many 'why' and how' inside my head but I tend to focused on that simple answer that the only reason you betrayed us because I didn't loved you back.

Why did you betray my parents too? They raised you, loved you, and protected you, but in exchange of everything they did for you is betrayal, you betrayed them.

That's the reason why my hatred won't fade, because I want my parents's death to not be in vain.

"Betrayal, that's the only reason why I should kill you Trevor," I answered.

"If I won't do that, will you spare my life?" he asked innocently.

I shook my head. "No, I will not spare you."

Even if you beg on your knees for your life, I won't spare you. I'm no saint Trevor, I need you to pay for what you've done.

"But I don't want to leave you. If I die, I can no longer see you."

I lowered my sword when I felt the heaviness of my inside. What am I going to do? Why did the fate wants to play with me? I am guilty of leaving him alone in the past, but he's also guilty of betraying my parents in the past.

What... What should I do?

"Can I just stay with you forever?" he asked softly.

The coldness of the wind started to embrace me making me breathe heavily.

"Let's see in the future," I answered.

Maybe... Just maybe, I can still learn the word 'Forgiveness' right?
