The room falls silent when Isabella walks out. She has a point, but I can’t help but feel a bit helpless - again. I know what I did, how I acted and the way I pushed my sister from me back then was wrong, but she is right in her assessment of me doing what I had to, to survive and not be cast out myself. I am sure if I had taken her side up front, then the Beta’s would not have hesitated to give me the same treatment, maybe even drag the past into it. As it were, they could keep the appearance to the pack, and I became the golden child. I do wish I would have helped her more, even if it had to be hidden. I did what I could to protect her, fight for her and keep her out of harm's way, but my powers were truly limited with how close the Beta’s, Alpha Ferguson, Jeff and Janelle kept an eye on me. I was never really alone, other than being in my room at night, and even there I knew one of them was watching m
