I was surprised when Vepar told me about something being wrong with Dominick. I had not sensed any sickness in him. I did notice that he hadn’t seemed like himself after the triplets were born.

“I know they performed a spell to bind souls to each one of the triplets. Could that have anything to do with what might be wrong with him?” I ask.

“Possibly, but that means that he would have had to bind part of his soul to one of them,” Vepar explained.

“I know those two wanted to do everything to protect the triples but I can’t see Dominick binding part of his soul to one of them,” I say.

“I asked Shade if she knew anything but she says that she hasn’t heard of him doing anything like that,” Vepar adds.

I am not sure how much I trust Shade. I don’t really know her that well. I have only dealt with her a few times, and usually, I was with someone else. I don’t really trust witches and since she is on her own and will work for anyone for the right price makes me even m
