Adriana's Point of View Yesterday was the final fitting for my gown. It was stunning, and the lace matched the amulet I was still wearing. Delilah told me to continue wearing it, as they weren't entirely sure I was safe from blood witches. Although Kree was incarcerated and her father dead, no one knew if any other blood witches had been a part of it. Kree wasn't talking. Neither was Brandon Junior or his wolves. Adriana's Point of View "Argh!" I cried in pain, squeezing Daemon's hand as hard as possible. "Not long now, Luna," the midwife replied. "Soon, you'll be fully dilated and able to push. At the moment, keep breathing like I showed you." The pain was too much for me to fully understand everything she said, and it seemed like Daemon understood this. "Breathe," he murmured in my ear before huffing with short breaths. It was just what I needed, and I huffed along with him. Each contraction seemed to last a lifetime, but in truth, it wasn't very long at all. I had all but blocked out the midwife, but Daemon kept talking to me, repeating the midwife's instructions. It wasn't long before Daemon relayed that it was time to push the babies out. Our second pup greeted the world less than one minute after the first. "Alpha, Luna, here is your son and daughter," announced the midwife. A nurse handed me one of the babies, and I held my son for the first time. He was so tiny but very noisy.

Adriana's Point of View After a late night with the twins naming and celebration, it was another bleary-eyed start to the day. Instead of breastfeeding both twins, I fed one while Daemon fed the other with expressed milk. I still had to express more milk afterwards, but Daemon took the twins and settled them down again. Thankfully, all they wanted to do at this stage was feed and sleep, with some socialising with us. I hopped into the shower and was happily surprised that Daemon snuck in to join me. Daemon's Point of View After Adriana and I had said farewell to Perry and Delilah, we went back upstairs to our office. "You are looking very thoughtful there," I said to Adriana. "What have you got on your mind?" "I just have so many questions that I can't answer," she said with evident frustration. "It is all very well to suggest I shift to a Lycan, but I wasn't joking when I said 'easier said than done', more like mission impossible. Do we have anything in the library about Lycans?" Adriana's Point of View Daemon and I left the library and returned to the packhouse for lunch. Alana had been looking after the twins while we were out. I had breastfed them before I went to the library and needed to do it again before lunch. While waiting for the afternoon meetings and the twins to wake up for their next feed, I started reading the book about Lycan physiology. The first sentence stated that the only Lycans here were members of the Royal Family. They were given that position by Selene, the Moon Goddess. In contrast to wolf shifters, Lycans had a four-legged wolf as well as two-legged werewolves. This creature was capable of walking upright on two legs. It looked like the werewolf of human movies, but that was as far as the relationship went. Lycans were not some devouring beasts unable to control themselves, far from it. Like wolf shifters, Lycan's eyes would change first. Unlike wolves, their eyes would change into amethyst colour orbs, much like I had now. Then,

Adriana's Point of View It was now nighttime, and I was going to try shifting into a Lycan for the first time. I honestly had no idea how to even begin other than to imagine the creature I wanted to become, but I was going to try anyway. It might take a couple of tries. It might not even happen. Daemon’s Point of View All the pack lands had been magically fortified against Kree and any blood witches working with her. I was glad that Perry, Delilah, Amiria and Pania, the other witches who were introduced to us once they had finished fortifying the borders, were staying here. Keeping Adriana safe was paramount, not just because she was possibly the last royal remaining. I honestly don't know how things would change if it was proven that she is royalty. Adriana’s Point of View Noises from the baby monitor roused me from sleep, proclaiming their hunger. While I had fallen asleep from exhaustion again last night, it was a different kind. Remembering last night's events brought a smile to my face. Daemon had been so gentle in his lovemaking, not that he was rough usually. It's just that this time had been more sensual and loving.
