"Stop making calls, Henry. Do you think you're Mr. Ford's trusted aide or family?" Sarah scolded as Henry was still trying to blow his trumpet.

"Don't bother about him, Lydia. We don't have much time left. Let's find Lewis. He might be able to help us with this."

Lydia shook her head and said, "He can't help much. He was kind enough to introduce me to many high-level chamber members today."

She believed no one could change Mr. Ford's decision, even if it were Lewis.

"Well, we can't just sit here and do nothing. I'll go ask my friends." Sarah got up and left.

Lydia sighed helplessly as she watched Sarah leave.

She thought that had been finalized.

Henry walked to the side and called Jeffery with displeasure. "What's going on, Jeffery? I thought you'd let the Millers join the chamber?"

"Ah—" Jeffery was stunned for a moment.

Then, he said hastily, "I did let the Millers join, and I even reduced the slots into one to highlight the importance and ensure the Millers are able to join
