Chapter 6

Solana's POV

Alton remained true to his words because just like what he promised he stopped pissing me off and I don't know if I should be happy or not because sometimes I miss his presence.

I let out a deep breath when his face crossed my mind again.

"You have a problem?" Kris asked while her eyes is fixated on her iPad probably busy checking all my schedules.

"Nothing," I responded as I stare at my reflection.

Kris lift her head and then looked at me.

"You sure?" she asked so through the mirror I smiled at her and then nod my head.

"I'm just tired," I responded.

"I'm sorry my dear star but you can't rest yet, you still have a fan meeting at five pm," she responded then smiled at me sweetly.

I felt exhausted but I can't ditch those people who continuously supports me. I know they are waiting for this event to happen.

At exactly four-thirty we started driving towards the venue of my fan meeting.

Upon arriving at the place flashes of the camera blinded my vision but I managed to smile so I won't look epic in the pictures.

The event organiser guided us towards the small stage that they set up.

They gave me a microphone so I took it and then faced the fans who is now shouting my name.

"Good evening everyone," I greeted then flashed my sweetest smile.

"Solana I love you!" one fan shouted which made me laugh.

"I love you too," I responded and that earned another shout from the fans.

After a few minutes, the event started and I started accepting questions.

"Good evening Ms Solana," a teenager greeted me.

"Good evening young lady, what's your name?" I sweetly asked.

"Nicole," she responded with a huge smile plastered on her face.

"Good evening Nicole, do you have any questions for me?" I asked and without any hesitation, Nicole nod her head.

"Ms Solana I just want to ask if you have a plan on changing genre. Like taking other roles?" she asked. I nod my head and then picked up my microphone.

"I'm thinking about that. For the past years, all I have been doing are sweet roles and for me to grow as an actress I think it's best if I widen my horizon to answer your question, yes I am planning to take on other roles. A secret agent perhaps? Or vampire? Do you think those kinds of roles fit me?" I asked and with a smile plastered on her face, Nicole nod her head.

"You are a great actress Ms Solana I am sure you can portray those characters perfectly," she responded which made me smile and hearing that kind of compliment warms my heart.

I continued accepting questions but for a moment I want to stop.

"Recently your mother got married to a well-known business tycoon Timothy Sanders which made you and Alton Sanders step-siblings. In your past post and interviews you clearly show your admiration for Alton but now that you are step-siblings do you still have a crush on him?" a woman with short hair named Anne asked.

I feel silent and the fans did the same. The whole venue became quiet which made it even more awkward so I decided to let out a soft laugh to ease the awkwardness and then looked at the crowd.

"That was a long time ago. Back then I was just a naive little girl." I responded.

"So you don't have a crush on him?" Anne asked. I swallowed hard and then bravely nod my head.

"I don't have a crush on him Ms Anne," I bravely responded and I hope they believe me.

"Thank you for answering my question Ms Solana, that's all," she responded and I let out a sigh of relief when she handed the microphone back to the event organiser.

"That was an intense question," the event organiser commented then laughed to remove the heavy atmosphere.

After a while, the event organiser look at me asking me if I want to entertain some more questions but I shook my head and then decided to reach for the bottled water in front of me.

I gulped the whole bottle down and then looked at Kris.

"Get me out of here," I mouthed so Kris nod her head and then whispered something to the event organiser.

"I'm sorry everyone but Ms Solana has to leave early," upon announcing that I heard the fan's dismay.

Some of them beg me to stay a little longer but I simply smiled and then walked out of that place.

When I am inside the car Kris faced me and then looked at me intently.

"What?" I asked while checking myself in the mirror.

"What's wrong?" she asked without tearing off the gaze.

I let out a deep breath and then faced Kris.

"Nothing. I am just tired Kris," I responded but the way Kris looked at me I know she didn't believe me.

"Is this about the question related to Alton?" she asked. I let out a deep breath and then rolled my eyes.

"I'm tired Kris stopped putting me on a hot seat," I responded and I can hear the irritation in my voice.

Kris let out a deep breath and then nodded her head.

"Fine but I am warning you, Solana, don't you dare do anything stupid that will ruin your career," she utters firmly and after that, she told the driver to drive toward Sanders' mansion.

After an hour we arrived. Kris reminded me again of my schedule for tomorrow before she let me go.

Upon stepping into the mansion I unconsciously roamed my eyes around looking for Alton and I want to punch myself for doing that.

"You're looking for someone Solana?" Timothy asked me when she saw me in the living room turning my head on every corner of the mansion.

I forced a smile and then faced Timothy.

"I'm looking for Mom," I responded even though I knew to myself that it was not Mom I am looking for.

"She's in the kitchen cooking dinner, do you want me to call her for you?" he asked so I immediately shook my head.

"It's fine," I responded.

"Okay. I will just call you when dinner is ready. Take a quick rest you look tired," he said then smiled at me before walking towards the kitchen.

I let out a deep breath and then walked towards my room but before I stepped inside I threw a glance at the room beside me contemplating whether I should knock or not.

I didn't see him this morning so I am curious if he is home.

After gathering enough courage I decided to knock on his door but I didn't receive any response after a while I heard Martha's voice.

"Alton isn't home Solana. He has a business trip and he told me that he will be gone for a week, " Martha informed me so I smiled at her and then simply nod my head.

"I didn't know I'm sorry," I responded. I was about to step inside when she spoke.

"Do you have something to tell him?" she asked so I immediately shook my head.

"Nothing," I responded then stepped inside.

I felt a hollow in my chest. I leaned on my door and then looked at my phone.

I should be happy that he is gone because that means I will have a peaceful life for a week but I miss him...no matter how hard I try to deny I long for his presence.

I stared at my phone and I don't know what comes to my mind but I dialled his number.

My heart started pounding hard when he answered but it sank when I heard a different voice.

"Alton is in the bathroom, may I ask who is this?" my pain doubled when I realized that he didn't even save my number.

I didn't bother to respond. I simply dropped the call and then wipe the tears that cascaded down my face.
