Twenty Seven

Dinner time was over and the kids went to do their homework as their mother had instructed. Marcel stayed behind to help pack the dishes.

"I'll help with that." He tried to speak to Abigail who was in the sink about to put the dishes in the dishwasher, but she put up her hands.

"I don't need your help." Marcel's lips thinned. He knew he had lost the battle.

"Alright. Goodnight then." He said walking out the door of the kitchen Abigail did not reply.

The next morning Marcel was at Abigail's door with a tray of french toast, scrambed eggs, orange juice, coffee and a rose bouquet.

He knocked on the door.

"Come in!" A muffled voice said from the other side of the door.

Marcel opened the door and strolled in.

Abigail was staring at Marcel like he was holding a katana and he was coming for her head. Marcel looked around as it was his first time entering her room. He whistled audibly out how luxurious it was.
