32| Intense Negative Emotions

Balia's POV

I was standing before him now, and his fingers were tightly wrapped around my arm. My cheeks were streaked with tears, but he didn't seem to care.

"What did you do today?" He asked as he released me from his hold. I staggered back in relief and watched as he took out a cigarette pack from his pocket. He pulled it open and slipped one out, lighting it up with a metal lighter he produced from his pocket.

"Nothing of much importance," I replied while rubbing my arms. Why did he care what I did today anyway?

He scoffed and leaned against my window, dragging for a while before he inhaled and puffed out its content. "You know, I had a shitty day today."

"I don't see how that is any of my business." I blurted out before I could even weigh my words.

My eyes fleeted towards him to see that he was smiling. Something definitely felt strange about his smile. "I never said it was any of your business."

"So why are you here?" I asked as I walked towards him, wondering where this bold
