Aurora’s POV

Aurora's eyes locked onto mine, her expression a tumultuous mix of shock and indignation, I maintained my cool demeanor, my features a mask of nonchalance that belied the turmoil roiling beneath the surface.

"You're here. What a parasite," she stated, her voice taut with restrained anger. "What are you doing here?"

I arched an eyebrow, the corner of my lips twitching in a sardonic smirk. "Seems like I could ask you the same question. Running away, Aurora? I didn't take you for the fleeing type."

Her jaw clenched, the muscles working visibly beneath the surface as she squared her shoulders, her defiance palpable in the air. She used to be like this since she was younger but around her late teenage years, she became mild. Probably her parents.

"I didn't run away," she shot back, her words laced with venom. "I left because I needed space. Privacy. To be alone! To leave you! Something you clearly don't understand.”
