Chapter 35

Fiona’s POV

I stared at the door longingly feeling guilty and needy at the same time. I know it is wrong to crave his presence this much when I know the situation he is in. But I can’t help it when I have gotten used to seeing him around. Ronan has made it a point of duty to always check on me every day. But he seems to be running late today.

Also, I am all alone in the house. Isla needed to get to the market. I sat curled up on the couch that seemed too tiny for me to make adjustments. The door clicked open and my heart thumped in excitement at seeing Ronan. But it fell when it turned out to be the Luna queen.

A light giggle escaped her lips. “Someone doesn’t seem too excited to see me.”

I waved a hand quickly. “It's not what you think. I thought it was Isla.”

“Where is she by the way?” She asked, looking around the house.

“To the market,” I mumbled quickly. I don’t know why, but I can’t seem to relax in her presence. Might be my conscience dealing with me.
