Ronan’s POV

Fiona seems to have overestimated her strength. We didn’t even get to run half of the woods before she started whining about her leg. I found it funny.

“Why do you keep chuckling to yourself?” She pouted leaning into me as we walked back to the house.

I coughed lightly, “I just can’t help it. You were so energized when we were going that I thought the woods would beg for you to stop running.”

“It's the pregnancy. Not me.” Fiona defended.

Humming in response, I rubbed at her back. “Yes, you said that the first time.”

She nudged me in the rib with her elbow. “It’s obvious you are mocking me. I am one of the best runners back in my village. Everyone knew how much I could move on my hind legs. I just feel heavy and weak because of the baby in me.”

Isla greeted us shyly as we entered the house. I nodded in response, but Fiona was too busy with her whining to notice her. Dumping herself into the bed, she folded her arms still pouting with tears in her eyes and her cheeks
